Rita’s POV:
I bring Angel to the canteen, and we help with the last few things for the party. She smiles but looks nervous. I give her a ready-mixed drink and refill the glass when she empties it. When Jennifer hinders the second refill, I stop to look at Angel.
Angel is more nervous about this countdown than I thought. Maybe not surprising, given her history. She has sacrificed herself for others most of her life. Having a mate might add to that burden, so she might not want one. I smile, knowing in my soul that she has to have someone who will do everything to make it worth it. She has a massive good karma buildup and will soon have a great harvest. I’m sure of it! It’s totally canon!
