The light was fading on a bleak and drizzly day as Guy and Tapiwa drove the direct route north from Balmoral, a hair-raising drive through the Cairngorm Highlands on single track roads. Two and a half hours later they joined the faster A9 and headed directly to Inverness. Despite aches from her injuries, Tapiwa marvelled at the dramatic mountain scenery. The Culloden clue was a long shot, but all they had to go on. Monty had stayed behind at Balmoral to tie up the loose ends.
