The second Ethan shut the SUV door, I heard him shift into his wolf and start stalking toward my father. There was no hesitation and no fear and I couldn’t look away because I had never seen anyone face my father like that before.
They met in the middle of the road and my heart started pounding harder with every second.
“Hey, it’s going to be alright.” The guy in the front said. “Alpha Ethan knows how to fight and people usually back down from him.”
“You don’t know my dad.” I shot back.
“If your father doesn’t fight his own battles then he doesn’t stand a chance.” He said. “You must mean something to him though.”
I shook my head. “No. He was just trying to use me to build alliances. If Ethan hadn’t shown up, he would have found someone else to marry me off to.”
