Carly’s POV. The shrill sound of my alarm clock jolted me awake, and I groaned as I reached over to turn it off. I sat up, my head pounding from lack of sleep. My mind had been racing all night, trying to come up with a way to get Allie to come back home. But regardless of what I thought of, nothing seemed good enough. I couldn't just fake forgiveness: she would see through that instantly. I was at my wit's end. I dragged myself out of bed, my movements sluggish and heavy.
