"What's the deal?" I asked, my voice edged with frustration as I crossed my arms and glared at my friend. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat, her eyes darting between me and Hunter, as if looking for support that wouldn't come.
"I want to join the army," she said with a determined look, her voice ringing with conviction.
Her bold declaration was met with a chorus of laughter, our mirth filling the room like a tidal wave of disbelief.
"Oh my, that's hilarious," I said, struggling to contain my laughter. Our laughter slowly faded as we registered the seriousness in her tone, the glint of determination in her eyes.
"What's funny?" she demanded, her glare turning icy.
