Chapter One
Prologue
“You are nothing, nothing but an Omega. You will never leave these grounds, I forbid it!” Alpha Isaac growled as he pushed me to the floor and shoved the mop into my hands. “Now clean. I want this place sparkling by morning or else!” The words echoed in my head as he finally walked away, leaving me to pull myself together. I was in a haze of frustration and fear, desperate to regain what shattered dignity.
I am Elora, an Omega from the Blue Mountain pack, bound by rules that suffocate my spirit. Dreams of freedom flicker in the recesses of my mind like a distant star, always out of reach. Alpha Isaac’s iron-fisted control of my life has left me trembling with the unspoken desire to defy him. I know the risks; the punishments for disobedience are dire. And yet, as I scrubbed the floor, my heart raced with the thrill of rebellion that simmered just beneath the surface.
It was on that fateful day, when the weight of his chains became unbearable, that I made a choice that would irrevocably alter the course of my life. A spark ignited within me, a fierce determination to reclaim my narrative, and with it, a glimmer of hope for a life beyond this prison.
I ran. I ran until my lungs burned and my legs screamed for mercy, driven by an overwhelming urge to escape the suffocating confines of my existence. I had no idea what awaited me outside the pack’s borders.
But when I awoke in a stranger’s bed, a swirl of confusion and uncertainty enveloped me. I was met with warm eyes and soft whispers, and to my astonishment, they called me Luna. In this new world, the truth about my worth came crashing down like a tidal wave, revealing the depths of my true identity and the secrets that had been hidden for so long.
But, would I ever truly be free from the clutches of my cruel Alpha?
Chapter One: Mine
“Omega!” Tiffany yelled loudly from across the room. I quickly rushed towards her, not wanting to gain the attention of Alpha Isaac. I was beyond exhausted but that did not matter to the likes of Tiffany and her crew. They enjoyed making my life hell, not that my life was great.
“Oh dear, looks like the dirty smelly wolfless omega needs a shower.” Tiffany laughed as a bucket of dirty mop water was chucked over me. I was drenched from head to toe, not that anybody would care. I was nothing in this pack.Forbidden from leaving the walls of this packhouse, I longed for a better life. To Know what it would be like to feel grass and mud between my toes and see the birds that sung their cheery tunes every morning.
My name is Elora, and I reside at the Blue Mountain Packhouse. I have a slim figure and long, curly blonde hair, which I usually wear up in a bun so it is out of my face. My eyes are a deep blue, which I love. I am not a normal girl, though. You see, I am a she-wolf; my rank at the packhouse is an omega. I don't know my parents because they passed away when I was just a tiny baby, so I don't have any memories of them. The only thing I have is a necklace locket from my mother. I have never taken it off because it makes me feel close to her spirit.
After I had completed all my chores, it was time for a shower and bed. I, along with the other omegas, would have to be up at four a.m. to begin breakfast for the pack members; otherwise, there would be trouble, and that was not something any of us wanted to dare happen.
We weren't treated too severely here at Blue Mountain Pack, but Alpha Isaac was extremely strict. We had to follow all the rules without any exceptions. Most omegas were allowed to train and shift along with the higher pack members, but Alpha Isaac did not allow me that luxury. I did not have a wolf, or if I did, it had not come forth to me yet. This is another reason why Tiffany and her crew would find it amusing to put me down and make fun of me.
Alpha Isaac never gave me a reason for not being allowed to watch the others train. Of course, I wondered why I couldn't join in on special occasions to watch. Only once i had dared to ask Alpha Issac for permission he had become very uncomfortable and banned me from broaching the subject again, He had sent me to clean all the floors as a punishment. I didnt dare to question him again.
I had been so lost in my own thoughts staring out of the slightly open window, that I had not even noticed Alpha Isaac striding down the corridor towards me until it was too late. He hated me and he never hid that fact. I let out a sigh as I continued to clean the long corridor, it was late by the time that I had finally completed that hideous job. I took a moment to breath and enjoy the stillness of the night, it was silent and the only time i could make any sense of my chaotic mind. I longed to feel freedom and be away from Alpha Isaac and his cruel ways. Nobody liked me here anyway. Tiffany made certain of that.
The urge to wander into the night, away from this terrible life just for a short while, it was becoming unbearable, most nights I was having crazy dreams about the forest and being called to it. Of course, I knew it would be a massive risk if caught, but I could not take it any longer. I wondered if I could just do it, climb down the open window and run into the night. It would be frightening and I would not know what to expect, but the excitement pushed me towards it.
Deep down, I knew I should not have left the pack house alone, but something about the forest, it felt as if it were calling me. I needed to find out what it was. Before I could stop myself, I was climbing out the window and running. I ran so fast that I dared not to stop even when my body ached for a moment of stillness. Then finally, standing in the middle of a clearing. I knew I was still on my territory, but something felt very offish. I got a horrible feeling running up and down my spine.
Alpha Isaac would go crazy when he found out I had up and left. He made his rules very clear, and anyone disobeying them would be punished appropriately. I allowed myself to go a little further, convincing myself that I would return before anyone could notice my absence. The patrol officers had already done their hourly checks, so I knew I could be okay for the short time being.
So, I kept running as fast as I could, not wanting to look over my shoulder or stop in case anyone was going to come after me, or worse, those filthy rogues.
"Where are you going?" I was so lost in my thoughts that i had not noticed someone had stepped forward from the bushes and violently grabbed a massive chunk of my long, hair. Letting out a yell of agony, tears pricked at mhy eyes and i was forced onto my knees, he threw me down to the ground so my face fell into a puddle of leaves and sticks, and goodness knows what else.
"I. I'm sorry!" was all I could stutter to the stranger, who I had no idea who he was.
Pulling me up by my arm, I shrieked loudly in pain. The man then swung his arm up as if about to slap me, then he stopped and just stared at my neck.
"Where did you get that from? Have you stolen this?" he Instantly, I felt for my locket and swallowed nervously.
"No, sir. Im no thief. It's from my mother."
The man scoffed and pushed me against the tree by the scruff of the neck.
"You are lying. You better say your prayers, rogue bitch.”
"No. I promise..!"
We were interrupted by a loud growling from behind that sent shockwaves around us.
I moved my eyes to the direction it came from and gasped. The pungent stench of coffee and walnut whirls overwhelmed me.
The man kept his grip on me and i swallowed hard at the unknown of my fate. Was i going to be killed here and now? I wished more than ever that i had my wolf to guide me, especially right now.
"Alpha Kai, this thieving rogue was caught here in your territory. What shall I do with her?" he bowed to the handsome figure standing before us. I could not take my eyes off him.
"What do you think you are doing? Get your hands off her!"
I watched in astonishment as he grabbed the man and threw him straight into a tree across the clearing. Knocking him straight out.
"MINE!" I heard his voice boom. “Mate!”
"Mate?" I whispered as my mouth fell open in shock. His eyes were deep blue, and his muscular body screamed authority. I wanted to go to him at once, but something stopped me. What if it were all a trick? Alpha Isaac would be about to jump out any second and kill me.
"My, you are a beauty. But tell me, What are you doing out here all alone? You are from the Blue Mountain Pack, i can smell it. It is a damn good thing I found you before you fell into some real danger! " he exclaimed, reaching out to me. Taking a deep breath, I opened my mouth to say something, but everything around me went black.
