The pace Remi had set for them was so punishing that their full stomachs protested. At some point, Haya couldn’t take it anymore and finally complained, “Dude, can’t we slow down? What’s the damn rush?”
Easing her strides, Remi looked behind her before absently telling her friends, “Sorry… I think it’s fine now.”
“What’s wrong, Rem?” Ainsley asked worriedly, forgetting about her aching sides.
Frowning, Remi shook her head. “Sorry, I… I just had this creepy feeling when we were approaching you earlier. I don’t know if it’s because of that Lewis guy or…” As if to clear it, she shook her head again. “Did no one else find anything odd?” she asked the others.
Axel and Haya answered in the negative, but Ainsley replied hesitantly, “Lewis was acting a little strange…”
