I give him a confused look which makes him laugh awkwardly. “Don’t’ look at me like I have two heads,” he says. I shake out of my state of shock. “Are you sure?” I ask him, feeling a little intimidated. Austin takes my hand in his and squeezes it gently. “Of course, I am,” he answers. I give him a soft smile. My heart feels like it is going to jump out of my throat. “But your parents don’t like me,” I state. Austin rolls his eyes. “I am asking you to be my girlfriend not theirs,” he answers. “But, we fight all the time,” I add. “So does everybody else,” he answers. I pause for a moment.
