As soon as the bathroom door clicked closed, I hurried into Carrie’s bedroom. After the last time, I took great care going through her things. I selected a pair of warm, comfortable sweatpants and a cozy-looking sweater. I didn’t even think about underwear, because that wasn’t going to happen. I hoped the items would fit Molly since she was a bit taller and more filled out than Carrie. I set the items on my bed and hurriedly left the room and headed downstairs. The sound of the water running from the shower, made me feel good because it meant Molly was safe. I had already informed Erik about what had happened so that he knew why I had canceled my meeting. Of course, he had been supportive and told me to keep them informed. I went into the kitchen and pulled my phone from my pocket.
