Jaden
The sun was high in the sky as I parked the van outside of Molly’s place of work. Since I had a late morning meeting, I figured I would surprise Molly with a quick visit. The thought of her smile lighting up when she saw me sent a rush of warmth through my chest. Last night she had gone out with the girls, and I had missed her. This was the perfect opportunity to see her before the busy day ahead. I walked through the front doors and headed up to her floor. I whistled a tune as I rounded the corner and spotted Nancy, Molly’s assistant.
“Good morning, Nancy,” I greeted her with a big smile. However, her surprised expression wasn’t at all what I had expected. Something felt off.
“Jaden!” she exclaimed and even her tone of voice sounded surprised. “What are you doing here?” she ask
