While Lydia did have her mother’s flash pan temper, she was also her father’s daughter - and knew that sometimes the best offence was malicious civility. “But my friends call me Dia. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mademoiselle…?” It was hard to miss the look of confusion on the drow woman’s face as she stared open mouthed at Lydia’s proffered hand. The frown of mild consternation that turned the drow woman’s lips downward as she met Lydia’s sparkling blue eyes only added to the sweetness of this verbal victory.
