I was furious! Yet another interview was ruined thanks to these publishers, but that wasn’t the last of the bad news for the day! It had become painfully clear that the people working there now weren’t of the same calibre as the people who worked there when my great-great-grandmother used them!
When they originally suggested that I don’t keep copies of my book, I thought they were insane. They said it would avoid any possible mistakes in the future if I didn’t keep the different drafts and only worked with the latest one.
I wasn’t allowed to email anything to their offices to avoid my book being copied by someone. Sitting at my desk while I tried to find the latest version was impossible! I was on the verge of losing it.
