Who Isaac Really Wants

2113 Words
"You've got a meeting with the Ambassador of the republic of Georgia and an interview with Glamierre magazine at two." Andrea, Isaac's personal assistant s***h advisor informs him. It's eight in the morning on Sunday and all Isaac wants to do is drink a very large strong cup of coffee and go over to Andy's. Instead, he shoves a spoonful of cereal into his mouth and chews. Andy doesn't open his bakery on sundays, he spends the time with his mother or just relaxing and Isaac couldn't invade that privacy. Well, he could if he was invited but since he wasn't, he focuses on his duties. "Who am I wearing?" Isaac asks in between his second and third spoon of cereal. The Cheerios doing nothing to cheer him up. "You've got two options. A black suit from Amani and a dark blue suit from Alexander McQueen." Andrea said as she slides her tablet towards him. She swipes left and right a couple of time, giving Isaac enough time to decide. "The Armani." Isaac said, pointing at the picture with his spoon. Isaac mentally sighs and tried to feel excited. Ever since his mother told him it was time to take the crown, to lead the country, Isaac had felt like a dark cloud of gloom was hanging over his head, pissing on him. Was he ready for that kind of commitment? Would he lead the country well? The thing is, Isaac has been taking over the responsibilities little by little, ever since his father died when he was sixteen. It had started with charity events, opening of new hospitals and organizations until the moment his mother told him he was ready. Isaac didn't feel ready though. "Your phone." Andrea hands him his XSMax and his mood immediately brightened when he sees three messages from Andy. Since this was his personal number, he rarely got calls, texts or emails on here. Andy: morning! I woke up hungry :( Do you think I can order pancakes from somewhere? Isaac chuckled as he read the message. He drops his spoon in his bowl and began typing his reply. Isaac: I can send someone over with pancakes. Andy's reply was instant. Andy: don't you have princely duties to do? Issac: I do but you are hungry. I'm sending someone over with breakfast Andy: how do you even know where I live? Isaac: I'm the Crown Prince remember? I'm the P to the R to the I to the N to the C to E. Isaac hadn't realized he was being stared at until Andrea cleared her throat. He looks up from the phone and found her staring at him with an amused expression on her face. "The baker?" "Yeah. He's hungry." Isaac said. "Can you send someone over with a breakfast menu complete with an omelette, bacon and pancakes?" "Sure." Andy says, biting her bottom lip afterward to hold back her laughter. She pulled out her phone and once she drops it, Issac knew that the deed was already done. "Thank you." "You're welcome." Andrea said. "Does he know? About your crush?" "It's not a crush." "Right." Andrea nods before correcting herself. "Does he know you are in love with him and have been for a year?" "Are you mental? Of course not. He already walks away from me, I don't want him to run too." Isaac said before getting up from his seat. He dumps the plate into the sink and walked towards his bedroom, Andrea in tow. She was right. Isaac was in love with Andy and had been in love with him for a year. Ever since the Baking Contest last year, Isaac had eaten Andy's cake and had promptly fell in love with the baker too. Isaac as well as his mother had been part of the judges for the contest but apparently they had been outvoted because one one else won. It still irks him till today. He knew they shouldn't have voted anonymously. He still suspects the contest was rigged and if he finds out he was right, people are going to jail! Just because he had a crown, doesn't mean Isaac wasn't scared of being rejected or even laughed at. He couldn't just walk up to Andy and declare his love. No. Instead he sent different people to the bakery and bought half of everything on the menu. So yeah. He had a plan. Isaac spent the entire day talking to Peter Green, the Ambassador from Georgia. The interview for Glamierre magazine took an hour and a half, the interviewer recording it. Isaac has also spent the day texting Andy. Isaac: I'm not a big fan of Optimus Prime Andy: that's it! Our friendship is over. Optimus Prime is the greatest. Isaac: Bumblebee is the greatest. Their conversation ranged from movies to series to books and even gossips about the Royal Family. Andy: is it true you eat only bread and avocados for breakfast and that's what makes you so strong Isaac had stared at the text with wide eyes. The things magazines write about him shocked him sometimes. They were absurd and so far away from the truth, especially when they say they got the information according to a close friend of his. Isaac: I mostly take cereal Andy: cereal is the breakfast of kings! Isaac: it's a good time I'm about to be one then. Isaac and Andy don't talk about the forthcoming coronation. It's like a silent agreement between them and Isaac wasn't even sure when it had been made. The palace was divided into apartments, his mother's rooms were in the south and his was in the north. He had never really felt alone because he had maids and butlers at the palace but after spending a few days with Andy at the bakery, Isaac realized how alone he actually was and felt. He didn't really have much friends and the little he had were scattered globally and called once in a while. Isaac couldn't wait for tomorrow. Monday has never felt so far away. — Isaac happily made his way into the bakery. Immediately he steps in he was surrounded by the sweet smell of cookies. He followed the smell all the way to the kitchen and found Andy pulling a fresh batch from the oven. It never fails to surprise Isaac how Andy always woke up early and in the best of moods and bake tons of pastries. "Good morning." Isaac said as he walked into the kitchen. When he got closer, he realized that a portion of Andy's face and hair was stained with flour. He smiles and reached up, softly brushing off the flour. "Good morning to you too." Andy said with a bright smile. "I made you a little something." He takes a couple steps away from Isaac and rushed to one of the three boxes on the table, he pulls it open and pulled out a small cake. Isaac has never felt this calm or happy to be in the presence of someone. He had never been this happy to be the sole focus of someone's attention. "It's a pineapple strawberry bundt cake." Andy cheered, lifting the cake above his head like a trophy and knowing Andy's skills, it truly was a trophy. Isaac was curious, he wanted to know how exactly the cake tasted, he doesn't think he had ever eaten a cake with those combined flavors. "When did you make this?" Isaac asked as he took a seat. "What kind of question is t- never mind. Just try it. Not to brag but it tastes amazing, I'm really proud of myself on this one." Who was Isaac to say no? Who can look at Andy's excited face and say no? Isaac watched as Andy carefully cut a big slice and placed it on a flat plate. He grabbed a fork as Andy slid the cake over and dug in. The first bite of the cake left Isaac wanting more. The cake had to be the best thing he had eaten in forever, the flavor blended into something sweet yet tangy and lord was Andy talented. "I want this at my coronation. It's ... I have no words for this cake. My mind has been blown away." Isaac groaned. He takes the last piece of cake and chewed before adding. "Is that okay?" Andy's cheeks were red and there was a shy smile on his face. It made Isaac want to grab him by the collar and kiss him and maybe do other things that might make members of the royal family clutch their pearls and gasp. "Anything for you, Isaac." Like always, Isaac helped Andy and Annie around the store, his chef hat on and so were his glasses. Things were going well until a bit past two when a man walked into the store and it felt like everyone went still. Isaac stared at the stranger, an indescribable feeling pooling in his belly. "Andy...." The man said and Andy's eyes narrowed, his smile falling off his face. Isaac had never seen Andy this way, he had never seen Andy not smile or laugh or this stoic. "What do you want, Stephen?" Andy asked, his voice clipped. It sounded so different and so unlike Andy that Isaac wanted to drag the stranger out of the store by the hair. "You haven't been answering my calls." Stephen said as he walked closer to the counter. "I wonder why? Oh yeah. Maybe it's because you broke up with me at three in the morning and sent me out of your house." Andy snapped at the man and Isaac's jaw dropped. This stranger, Stephen, had dumped Andy. What kind of stupid swine was he? How he had dated Andy, gotten to know him and had still thrown him away like gravel? What? Isaac takes a defensive step in front of Andy. The bakery was empty, save for the two girls typing away on their laptops at the corner, the lunch crowd had come in and had been gone by quarter to two. So if Isaac punched this i***t in the face, no one would see it. "You can't still be upset. It's been four months." Stephen said and he sounds even more stupid. "And I've moved on. It's a good thing we weren't going on long enough for me to fall in love with you, Stephen." Andy said and Isaac mentally cheered. "Can you tell your guard dog to stop staring at me like that?" Stephen asked and Annie laughed. Isaac would have laughed too but to him, this wasn't funny. He wanted Stephen gone. "He's not my guard dog." Andy said and promptly slid an arm around Isaacs waist. Isaac haze fell from Stephen to the small arm around his waist and it felt like his heart was about to explode. He looked at the hand and then at Andy, the anger melting away like butter. That is, until Stephen spoke again. "You can't be serious. You can't leave me for four eyes!" Isaac practically growled, tearing his gaze from Andy to the dumbass man in front of him. "Okay. I've had enough. I'm going to count up to five and if you aren't gone at the final count, I will break your nose." Isaac said, his voice dropping several octave deeper, a tick in his jaw as he stared down the man in front of him. "Are you serious?" "Five." Isaac counts. "Andy..." Stephen said. Andy smiled sweetly. "Four." He says with a smirk. Three and I suggest you leave now before you regret it, asshole." Annie counts in, her hands on her hips. She had on red and purple today and it made her glare even more dramatic. Stephen mumbled something under his breath and took several steps backwards before making his way towards the door. Once the door closes behind him, Andy melts against Isaac, his nose pressed to Isaac back as he took several deep breaths. "Are you okay?" Isaac asked and he feels Andy nod. "Don't mind that asshat. You deserve something more, you deserve to be treated as the beautiful prince you are, loved, cherished and protected." Isaac said. "I know." "Good." Isaac smiles a little. Andy holds into Isaac for a few more seconds before leaning up to press a kiss to Isaac's cheeks. He whispers thank you and finally drops the arm he had around Isaac's waist. Just like always, Isaac watched his boy walk away, hoping that one day Andy would see and know how his true feelings. Isaac watched Andy walk away, silently hoping that one day, he would be his.
