"Are you sure you want me to go with you to the palace?" Andy asked as he paced a box of donuts. Isaac had mistakenly let it slip that his Queen had been craving donuts and Andy had spent a part of the day making donuts. He made two Oreo donuts, two jam filled, two custard filled, one coated in strawberry icing and rainbow sprinkles, another covered in just chocolate with tiny pieces of marshmallows and another covered in orange icing.
"Sure. You wanted to watch Bohemian Rhapsody and we got a copy since we couldn't make it to the premiere." Isaac said. He's seated on the stool near the counter and watching Andy as he packs the donut and pull his apron off. Once Isaac's words registered in Andy's head, the baker turned to him with wide eyes.
"You got a copy? Are you serious?" Andy asked, excitement clear in his voice. He looks about ready to jump over the counter and Isaac was ready to catch him.
"Yeah." Isaac said with a smirk.
"Alright! Let's go!" Andy grabbed the box and walked out, heading right for the door. It's a bit past seven in the evening, Annie had gone as soon as Isaac had flipped the sign from open to closed, its dark out and the street lights were on. It gave Andy a soft halo around his head and f**k was he gorgeous. Isaac couldn't believe he got to have this, he got to spend time with this wonderful man.
"Hurry up, old man!" Andy yelled, startling Isaac from his thoughts.
"I am not old! I'm just older than you with three years!"
"Still old!" Andy cackles as he made his way towards the black Range Rover parked at the corner, a bit down the street. Isaac got into the car and pressed the start button, he didn't need to look around to check his security detail, he knew they were there. Always in the shadows, watching.
"Are you sure your mother would like this?"
Absentmindedly, Issac reaches out and placed a hand on Andy's, his thumb softly stroking. "Yeah, she will. You made all her favorites."
It's the little things like this that made Isaac feel so much. Andy doesn't sees his mother as the Queen. He sees her as his mother. Isaac's mother.
Andy's gaze fell from Isaac's face to their hands. When Issac sees his hand on Andy's, he lifts it back and tried to be smooth about it. He almost coos when he sees how pink Andy's cheeks had gotten. It made him want to lean over and kiss Andy.
While Isaac was mentally kicking himself, Andy smiles at him. "You are sweet. Have I told you that?"
Isaac smiles goofily at Andy's words, joy exploding in his chest. "You have. Have I told you how beautiful you are?" Isaac asks, holding himself back from saying... Have I told you how captivating your eyes are and how good you smell?
No. The last thing Isaac wants is to come off as creepy, so he's just going to stick to beautiful. Andy doesn't answer his question, he just smiles and looks out the window as Isaac pulls out of the parking spot. For the first time in a while it was silent between them, Isaac itched to put on the radio but at the same time he just wanted the silence. It felt comfortable with Andy, the need to bring up conversations were little.
Halfway through the drive, Andy speaks up.
"Do you know you say somethings that make me want to fall for you? You say things that make me think and think." Andy said, his voice quiet. Isaac was so shocked he almost swerved. He tightens his grip on the steering wheel.
"Andy..."
"You have to show me you're serious. I don't want to get my heart broken anymore." Andy was looking at Isaac nowand in between the car going through various street lights, Isaac could see Andy's face, he could see the honesty etched there. "You are going to be King soon and I can't just be someone disposable."
Isaac wanted to shake his head, he wanted to object but he couldn't. He had all this words in his head but his tongue felt heavy. He doesn't get a chance to reply, Andy reaches out and flips on the radio, fiddling with it until Bowie's voice came flitting in through the speaker.
Words kept spinning in Isaac's head, he had dreamt about something like this happening and in all of them he always had the right words and always ended up with Andy kissing him. So why was he f*****g up now? He has waited a year for this and ...
He mentally screamed.
Thankfully, they get to the palace in time. Isaac pulls up to the front and hands the keys to one of the guards. Since he couldn't spill the words from his moth, he was going to use action. He gently took Andy's hand in his as he led him into the house.
"The palace is divided into sections, each apartments. Mine is on the south and my mom north. We've each got our our kitchen and our own staff as well as other things." Isaac said as he led Andy into the house. Of all the things to come out of his mouth, it was the description of his home. The house he grew up in. He takes a look at Andy and almost sighed in relief when he sees Andy looking at everything with wide eyes. The amber and gold walls, the gold rimmed furniture, pictures of past family members in their regalia, dark suit with many awards over the breast pocket and downwards.
"We could watch the movie in my room or the theatre." Isaac said to Andy. He was fine with either option.
"Your room? I want to lie down and watch it with a large bowl of popcorn with chocolate drizzled on it, resting on my stomach." Andy replied, his smile big and his cheeks red.
"Done."
Isaac led Andy to his rooms, their hands still held together. He pushed open the doors and let Andy wall ahead, taking in everything.
Isaac had personally decorated his room. The floor was wooden, the sitting room was designed with soft couches and a large glass table and a plush white carpet underneath. The kitchen was clean, pots put away and Andy couldn't help but imagine himself baking in this state of the art kitchen.
Isaac also had an inbuilt gym, an indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi with a large flat screen hanging on the wall opposite. He also had a library, a games room, his study, a walk in closet the size of small shopping mall.
Isaac's room though was fantastic. The walls were white with black rectangle decorated sparsely on different parts of the wall, the bed was King sized with soft grey sheets and a matching duvet with stripes on it, large pillows and the top of the cake was the ceiling. The ceiling was made of glass, Andy could see the stars shining right above them.
"Why don't you have your seat while I prepare the popcorn?" Isaac gestured towards the bed. Andy nods and took his seat, he immediately falls back into the bed, his arms spread out, the soft bed making him feel like he was on a cloud.
Isaac chuckled and grabbed the remote, he pressed a button and the tv slid up from the wooden floor. Isaac has asked for this particular design, it was easy to use and it was out of sight.
Isaac quickly made Andy's chocolate, the bakers words still ringing in his head. Once he was done he grabbed a large tray, put the popcorn on it as well as virgin margarita he had in the fridge and the bowl of fruits.
They watched the movie together, Andy singing along, bobbing his head while chewing on his popcorn. Isaac wasn't as focused, he just kept on looking at Andy. This went on for two hours and a couple of minutes. He was just staring at Andy.
The baker was so close, he was just arms length away and the need to kiss him was so strong that immediately the end credits was done, Isaac rolled off the bed. He made his way to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water. He took large gulps of it and tried to calm down.
When he makes his way back into his bedroom, he finds Andy standing in the middle of the room with his head tilted up.
"It's so beautiful." Andy said and Isaac doesn't agree. He thinks Andy was shining brighter than the stars.
"Can't people see in?" Andy asked still looking at the stars.
"It's a one way mirror. I can see out but no once can see in. I also had dark panels that cover it up if I want to keep the sun out." Issac replies. He takes several steps closer to Andy.
Andy blinks, one, two, three times before looking down. He turns to Isaac and gives him that smile that made the prince want to sacrifice everything he had just to see the smile again when it was gone.
"Thank you for brining me here and for the movie."
"Anything for you, Andy." Isaac said in response. Andy nods.
"It's late. I've got to be at the bakery tomorrow morning." Andy side stepped Isaac as he spoke, he was making his way to the door, his hand already on the knob when Isaac finally found his words.
"No."
Andy looked over his shoulder, confusion etched on his face. "What?"
"You can't leave. I have a couple of things to say." Isaac spoke and Andy turned around, his hands by sides. "You said I shouldn't play this game with you. You said I need to show you that I'm serious." Isaac starts. "I've dreamt of you saying those words to me, I have thought about it for a year, Andy."
Andy's eyes widened but he never interrupts.
"Ever since the Baking Contest, I haven't been able to stop thinking about you. The thing I had in regards to you was sending people over to your bakery to buy your baked goods. I was so desperate to know that I was could take anything even if it was to eat a couple of croissants and imagine you had made them for me. I couldn't muster up the courage to walk in. I felt if I had come into you store and asked you out on a date, that I'd be rejected. So I waited and hoped. I had a crown and I had responsibilities and a country to lead and I didn't want to put that pressure on you."
Isaac licks his lips as he ran his hand through his hair.
"You are kind, smart, beautiful, loyal and so much more. I didn't even ask you to keep my staying at your bakery a secret and you did anyway. You take care of Annie and you treat ever customer like a friend. Your smile lights up the room and your laughter sounds like music to my ears. I don't know how to show you, I thought I already had, i thought you'd see how serious I am about you every time I'm at the bakery. I actually hated pineapple, I haven't eaten nor have I drank something pineapple flavored since I was six and yet, you try to change my mind and bake me these treats that leave me baffled and wanting more."
Issac looks right at Andy who had a hand on his mouth.
"I'm ready to fight for this, for us and if you need me to show you that I freaky mean ky, that I really like you and want more, a future for us, then I will. You don't deserve to be heart broken, you deserve to be treated like a prince, like someone special and you are. You are my specia kind of perfect."
Andy let out a sob and ran up to Issac, jumping on the prince with his legs locked behind Isaac's waist. Issac held onto Andy, happy that he didn't walk away.
Andy cups Issac face, leaned down and kissed him.
