CHAPTER ELEVEN

-YURI HANNA- After a lengthy run through the woods and checking Harvey's condition, I returned to the Blue Moon main packhouse to settle whatever wrongdoing had been leveled against me. A long sigh escaped my lips as I remembered all the stunts I pulled to get myself and the prince to that land alive, as well as the time I was hauled inside the cell like a damned criminal. Heck! It's enough to make my blood boil yet I had to cool my head. Honestly, I love money, but I value honor more. I'd never embarrass my alpha, or she'd kick my ass big time. Snickering, I entered the living room and my gaze was drawn to the Wolf Prince, who was conversing with Raffa Greyson and Shin Rivas. Sensing my presence, Prince Killah ceased speaking, swung his head in my direction, and pinned his emerald-green eyes at me. In an instant, I was transfixed in the doorway, my hand twitching to my side. 'Damn it!' My heart started racing and I almost gripped my chest. It was as if I'd been struck by lightning, caught off guard by a force I couldn't explain, and the prince's aroma of mixed mint and nature scent didn't assist at all, tickling my snout and filling my lungs, making Haede whine in delight. For a brief period, I forgot about the other shifters in the room, who cast interested glances between Prince Killah and me. Fortunately, they kept silent and did not ask any questions that came to mind. I mean, if they're perplexed by the staring match in front of them, which they could only see in those cliché movies, I was perplexed as well. 'Goddess! Is it the prince's ethereal beauty that has me spellbound?' Why can't I take my gaze away from him? The deeper my look went, the more my chest hammered like a drum. Suspicion crossed my mind. 'Is he my mate?' "Okay, that's enough!" The magic that had encircled the entire room was broken by Luna Shin, who couldn't keep her silence. "Geez! I've never seen such a long stare-down contest in my life. You even surpassed Nixie and Alley's record! Be honest, are you just a bodyguard for his highness, Yuri Hanna, or is there something else going on between you two that we need to know about?" My face distorted as I barked at her. "All you need to know about is that you owe me another million for false charges." I shook my head, put my hands on my hips, and gave the Greysons a disapproving look. "How could you believe such nonsense without first hearing my side of the story? Do I appear to be someone who will tarnish my alpha's reputation?" Raffa Greyson sighed, rose, and approached me, scratching his nape. "Please accept our heartfelt apologies for the misunderstanding, Beta Yuri." Things like this will not happen again in the future, I assure you, as Blue Moon's alpha." "This occurrence serves as a lesson to us all," I said solemnly. "I'll pretend nothing happened last night, but your Luna still owes me a good sum of money for the defamatory things she said to me," I remarked, recalling everything the Luna of Blue Moon flung at me while they apprehended me. A smirk emerged on my lips as Shin Rivas' eyes widened. "What the heck, Yuri Hanna! I simply stated that you are a perverted kidnapper!" The Luna groaned. "You have no heart!" "Two million!" "What!" "Alright!" Before you two chew your heads off, breakfast is ready," Mrs. Greyson, Raffa's mother, stepped from the kitchen and interrupted our argument while carrying one of Blue Moon's prospective alphas. "Let's all dig in!" My stomach grumbled, and it was only then that I realized how hungry I was. I looked across at Prince Killah, who was still staring at me. He flashed me a smile and mouthed, "Hey, man." My brow was pricked with a grimace. Is the wimp still oblivious to my gender? A few winks later, everyone made their way to the dining hall. "It's been a while, Beta Yuri!" Neil came up behind me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. "It's only a month, dude," I said, my eyes rolling. Right. It was a month since the eastern lands were engaged in combat with Dallas and Luca. It was a violent conflict, and we feared we'd lose our territory to those scumbags. Fortunately, the Moon Goddess did not let evil win, and justice triumphed. Furthermore, it hits differently when you have genuine friends on whom you can rely in a crisis. Lexar chimed in as well, imitating Neil's hooking his arm around my other shoulder. "Let's drink later as a celebration of our victory!" That made me smile because he was correct. As much as I despised being extravagant, as restitution for that war, we all deserved to get drunk. "I need to recover my car first," I thought of my vehicle, which I had left on the road near the border of Adamson and Howling Valley. I couldn't leave a trail for Dallas to find the prince. "Your car is in the garage. While you were being detained, Warren and Alley picked it up, 'Mr.Bodyguard'," Shin explained as we all approached the extensive dining tables. Okay, that's a relief, but why did she emphasize the last two words? Does she know the prince mistook me for a man? Those were my thoughts when someone ripped Neil and Lexar from me. To my astonishment, the prince took a commanding position between me and the stunned boys. Prince Killah granted me a cat-like smile while his eyes glinted mysteriously. "This humble lord never shares what is his. I trust you understand what I mean, gentlemen," he expressed that could be heard by everybody making me frown in confusion. 'He never shares what is his? Is he talking about me?' I shook my head as distinct giggles reached my ear, and I became even more baffled. 'Or perhaps I was just famished and overthinking things.'
