When Abby got home that evening, she was in high spirits. All she wanted was to go to that party, be close to Lucas, and make sure that Steph went home a sad soul.
“You look happy today, what happened at school?” Emma asked as she chopped the onions.
“No Mom, I am doing just fine. Thank you for asking.” She said, intentionally avoiding her mom’s earlier question.
“Okay, I understand that teenagers don’t like opening up to their parents about how their days were at school. Anyway, I am going out tonight, and I will leave your phone for you for the weekend, but no going out, no parties and no sneaking out.” She said, and Abby chuckled nervously.
“Yeah…thank you mom. I have missed my phone, and who are you going out with?”
“No, it is none of your business, and it is not a date but a company thing. Why am I even explaining myself to you?” She asked obliviously and Abby laughed.
“It is okay Mom; you are allowed to date whoever you want. You are no longer bound by dad, and not married as you are. And, I am not judging you. Go out and have fun. I will just be here, watch a movie, and get some sleep.” She spoke.
“Good, your phone is on my nightstand, and remember, it is only for the weekend. On Monday, you are still grounded.”
“Okay, I get it, mom. Thank you, by the way, I love you.” She said as she ran upstairs to pick up her phone. As soon as Emma made sure her daughter was comfortable, she left to go to the company dinner.
Abby wanted to go to the party and come back before her mom. So, she called Lucas as soon as her mom left.
“Hey Abby, I didn’t know you had your phone back, what’s up?” he asked. From the way he spoke, he sounded like he was already drunk and the deafening music in the background made Abby want to be there and enjoy the party for the first time.
“I just wanted to tell you that I am free right now, and my mom is out. I was wondering if the offer was still on the table, I would like to come and enjoy myself, then come back home before my mom comes back home.” She said, and Lucas chuckled.
“Yeah, I am sorry the music is too loud, and I am already drunk. I am sending my driver to pick you up, dress sexy. I am waiting for you.” He said and Abby smiled. She felt like she was on top of the world. Lucas was interested in seeing her in a sexy dress.
“Okay, I will be there. I am just going to get ready and wait for your driver.” She said excitedly.
Abby settled for a short black dress that reached her thighs. It was a birthday present from her mom when she turned sixteen. She sprayed some cologne and picked up a denim jacket in case of any cold.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door. “Abigail Daniella, I am here to pick you up, I am Lucas’ family driver.” The young man introduced himself.
“Sure, I will just get my purse and we will be on our way.” She said as she walked back to pick up her purse.
The drive to Lucas’ place was a short one since his mansion was not far away from Abby’s place. When she got out of the car, she marveled at the sight in front of her.
There was music pumping through the speaker, mixed with laughter and conversations among the students who were at the party. Everyone was dressed up for the occasion, some were in the swimming pool. Taking shots and some making out in the water, showing off their unique styles.
The contagious energy got her excited. As soon as she walked to the entrance, Lucas saw her and walked towards her. He had a red tumbler in his hands.
“You made it, you look lovely. Come and join my friends.” He offered, but Abby was hesitant to join them. She knew they didn’t like her, and being her first time at a party, she didn’t want to end up crying in a corner.
“I don’t think your friends like me.” She said hesitantly.
“Of course, I understand. Do you mind coming with me to my room? We could just hang out since you are not comfortable being with my friends. I don’t want to make you uncomfortable.” He offered and she nodded absent-mindedly.
As they passed through the crowd, they kept bumping into sweaty and half-naked students. Some people were catching up, dancing like nobody was watching, and enjoying their drinks.
“So, what are we doing tonight?” Abby asked as she walked around in his room. It even had its balcony, and from where they were standing, they were able to see what was going on downstairs, and in the pool.
“Nothing, we could just hang out and chill here. I have some soft drinks in the fridge,” he said, pointing out.
“You have a fridge in your room?” She asked, surprised.
“Yes, there is a wine cellar downstairs but my father has the keys. But who says we can’t enjoy ourselves? I stole a bottle of wine just for me and you.” He said, retrieving a bottle of expensive wine and two glasses.
“Wow, seems like you already figured it out. I think the wine will be fine. Can I sit here and enjoy the view?” She asked, pointing at the ball-shaped swing chair and he nodded. He followed her with both bottles and sat opposite her.
“You know, I didn’t think you would come, but I guess we were lucky your mom left for that dinner party. How are you holding up? And don’t worry about my friends. They are always like that.” He said as he sipped his wine.
“Yeah, I get that a lot. But, as long as you are okay with me, I don’t care about those people who think otherwise of me. I am doing just fine. Thank you for inviting me. Did you invite Stephanie?”
“No, but everyone from school is here. Is she causing you any problems?”
“Yes. She approached me yesterday and she wants me to stay away from you. She thinks you and I are dating.”
“What? But I know she is just jealous. And is it wrong if we dated?” he asked, looking at her, and Abby shyly looked away.
“No, but we just met. You don’t even know me.”
“I know a lot about you. Your name is Abigail Daniella, daughter of Emma, who works as an accountant at a local firm where Stephanie’s dad works as a manager. You moved here two weeks ago, planning to settle here for some time. Should I continue?”
“No, seems like you know a lot about me. What about you?”
“Nothing much. I am the only child of my dad. My mother walked out on us when I was ten and she got married to her boss. My father and I have been on our own ever since, but I am sorry about what I said to you when you first joined, that is not who my father raised me to be.” He said and reached for her hands, squeezing them reassuringly.
“It is okay, an apology accepted, but I don’t always think about the past. The party was nice, and I saw you on a new ride. Is your father that rich?”
“Yes, it is not mine, my father will kill me when he gets back.” He said, sipping his wine, then turned his attention to her. “Why don’t we talk about you? I know you might seem to think that we are not of the same class, but from where I am seated, I can see your lips and they are appetizing. I know that is being a p*****t, but I can’t hold myself back. I want to kiss you, Abby.” He whispered the last sentence, making her almost jump out of her skin.
“What!” She stuttered, and Lucas nodded. Walked up to her and squatted in front of her. “I know it sounds crazy but I want to kiss you right now. Only if you want, of course. I would never take advantage of you.” He said, closing the proximity between them.
Abby was surprised but nervous about his plea. She sure wanted to kiss him, but it was her first time and she didn’t know if it was the right thing to do or if her breath was fresh or stinking.
“I don’t know, uh-huh I have never kissed anyone before.” She stuttered, closing her eyes in the process.
“Okay, that makes it special. Are you in, or am I rushing you?”
“No, I don’t know. Do you like me or do you just want to kiss me because you are sort of drunk?” she asked and he sighed.
The truth was, he wanted to kiss her because he felt like kissing her. Her lips looked moist and well-parted, and red like cherries.
“Both, could I kiss you?” He asked and she nodded. That was all Lucas needed before he gently grabbed her chin and placed a soft kiss on her lips. They still tasted like wine. She had been drinking, he gently reached for her left boob and she squeaked, giving him access to her mouth. His tongue darted in and out of her mouth. A moan escaped her mouth and Lucas groaned.
“f**k!” he said before he pulled back, and they both stopped to catch their breath.
“Lucas, you have to come down here,” Ryan said as he opened the door. “What are you guys doing in here?” he asked when he noticed they were staring at each other awkwardly.
“Nothing that concerns you. I will be down in a few minutes. Just give me some time.” He said, and Ryan nodded, then walked out of the room.
