It felt like it had been forever since I had Lily in arms, kissing her, tasting her… holding her.
The weeks had gone by so quickly, with never enough time spent with her. I’d been so focused on catching up with the humans who were clearly surpassing us that I’d somehow pushed Lily aside. And though she had her own obligations, I tried to align our responsibilities so we could at least stay near each other most of the day. Still, I missed her terribly.
