Chapter 6: What are you?

1236 Words
The sun had risen again but Luna didn't get enough sleep because of the matter that happened to her last night. She was still disconcerted about what happened to her that began when she went to the feast of Blood Moon. She took a breath, convinced herself that this was another day and she had to move on in her life. She stood up from her bed and fixed herself. Luna went straight to the kitchen to drink at least one cup of tea. And suddenly she thought of what she should do when she saw Lucas again. Luna left their house and the daylight struck directly at her skin. As she walked beside the road, she thought about the words Lucas expressed to her yesterday. If she remembered correctly, Lucas asked for her help. What if Luna helped him? Luna presumed that Lucas was the key to the mystery happening to her. In the middle of her speculation, someone pulled her hand where her wound was and, due to its harshness, it started to bleed. "Can I talk to you?" he said to her. It was her school fellow that had a long and deep desire for her. Luna rolled her eyes, she actually tried to speak but he spoke again. "What else should I do, Luna? I've done everything for you, to please you, just to win your heart!" he exclaimed. Then someone held the hand of her schoolmate. It was Lucas. "Let Luna go or else I'll break you into pieces!" Lucas angrily demanded, and Luna saw his eyes turn red. Luna quickly pulled her hand from her fellow schoolmate and she ran away from the pair. She didn't know if her fellowschoolers saw Lucas' eyes change in color, but she was certain she had not imagined it. She kept on running until she reached university. Luna stopped before the gate. She felt exhausted, physically, and mentally. It hadn't taken long when Lucas arrived beside her and grabbed her shoulders. "Come with me..." Lucas said. "What?" Luna was at a loss to further speak. "I said, come with me!" Lucas commanded. "No! Why should I?" she told him. She felt irritated. Once again, Lucas didn't listen to her and pulled her harshly to his side, while his eyes glowed like a predator. "Wait, I need to drop by my class," Luna pleaded. "This is more important than your class or even this university," Lucas retorted. "Where are we going?" Luna continued to ask him, hoping it would ease his wall. Lucas didn't answer and continued to walk while still pulling her on their way. They turned into a small alley and stopped there. The surroundings are very quiet, the atmosphere heavy. Finally, Lucas released his grip on Luna's hand. "I want to show you something," Lucas said while gazing straight into her eyes. Luna's worry deepened and her heart constricted from fear. "What will you show me?" Luna asked, her voice quivering. "Promise me you won't freak out?" Lucas asked, looking vulnerable for a moment. "I can't promise because right now I'm so afraid of you," she admitted in a hushed whisper. "If you have something to show, please get it over with because I really have to go,” she added. Luna didn't expect what she saw. Lucas turned into a creature that she had never seen before in her entire lifetime. Lucas' skin turned gray and his eyes became a familiar red until they became thoroughly black. The tie on his black hair suddenly dropped and a scar appeared on his left cheek. His nails grew longer and black wings emerged from his back. "What are you?" were the only words she managed to utter and, with everything taking place, Luna had lost consciousness. LUNA rose from her bed and sat on its edge as she quickly grabbed her chest, catching her breath. She looked around the place and wondered why she was in her own bedroom. How could Luna be there when she was just at the university moments ago with Lucas and suddenly changed his appearance? Could she be dreaming? She didn't know what she should think. She was really sure that she had entered university early and everything that she saw was real. Luna immediately got up and obtained her laptop. She opened it and started to do research regarding Lucas' identity as quickly as she could. Luna gasped from what she found out. Lucas is a fallen angel? How come? Does this mean Luna is dealing with a fallen angel? The information made her gawk. Luna doesn't want to believe this. This is weird! She wasn't convinced and she wasn't satisfied with those feelings and thoughts she had in her heart and mind. Fallen angels are spiritual beings which fell from Heaven into a sinful state. Whenever they want to, they have the ability to appear to people physically, and are able to marry human women. They can also produce children. Luna is still bothered. A strange feeling bubbled from beneath her which she couldn't explain. She's a woman and Lucas always comes near her. They can deceive people and can travel outside of the world. But they were not demons, they were looking for a direction until the day of judgement. Is it possible that Lucas was really a fallen angel? What does he need from Luna? Luna wanted to get more information, when.... "Luna," she heard Lucas' voice. Luna stopped what she was doing. She wondered if Lucas was really there or she was just thinking too much about him. She shook her head and sighed. "Luna, can you hear me?" she heard his voice again. This time, she's certain her mind isn't playing tricks on her and she really heard Lucas. Her body began to tremble but she had the courage and dared to face the direction where the voice came from. Luna briefly rose from what she witnessed; Lucas was sitting on the window sill of her room while curtains were being blown by the wind. "What are you doing here? How did you get there? What do you want?" she asked Lucas, her voice was shaking. Lucas descended from the window and gradually approached her. "Fly with me," he invited Luna, and at the same time, he unfurled his dark wings on his back. Luna forced herself not to be afraid of him. "I don't want to come with you. Find another human to entertain your needs." But Lucas didn't listen to her, like what he was doing. He swiftly carried Luna's body with his arm and in a second, they were already floating in the air. "Lucas, what do you think you're doing? Bring me back to my room!" Luna cried out. "Don't cry. I simply have something to share and tell you," Lucas told Luna, and suddenly, they stopped mid-air. Luna was about to speak but fireworks appeared near them with different colors and designs. They looked beautiful and stunning to watch. The fear she felt in her heart was replaced by joy. "Do you like it?" Lucas asked her, but Luna couldn't answer. "Sometimes we need the darkness in order to appreciate the light." Luna sighed and would actually say something when a dark shadow flew in their direction and hit them. The wings of Lucas embraced and wrapped Luna's body tightly, making sure that they landed safely.
