The moon follows me now. Even when I walk beneath the burning daylight, I can feel it. Its pull like a thread wound tight around my ribs. Silver hums beneath my skin, faint but constant, as though I’ve swallowed light and it refuses to stay buried. At first, I thought it was just exhaustion. The sleepless nights. The memories that don’t belong to me. But the reflection in the window this morning wasn’t just mine. There was something else behind my eyes. A flicker or a glow. The faint shimmer of another life bleeding through. The old tongue keeps slipping past my lips. Words I shouldn’t know.
