AUSTIN I stared at the door that Sage and her uncle went through. Lou whined. I could feel how pissed he was. “Maybe she needs time to calm down,” I mumbled, even though I didn’t believe the words that came from my mouth. The office was quiet until Susan spoke. “Why the hell is he here?” she asked, making me look at her with a frown. “Sage must have contacted him or something.” My eyes stayed on her. My father stared at her blankly. Why was she acting like that?
