Vanessa

“What?” I asked grabbing my stuff for my first class. “Is that true?” Damien asked. “I shook my head, honestly I have no clue. I told me wolf tell her something to scare her b***h ass off so I don’t get into a fight this close to the end of the year, so she did.” Every one looked at me wild eyed. Damien full force crashed his lips onto mine and I almost fell into the locker trying to keep balance. “Goddess you are amazing.” He said as the bell rang and we all went to class.

         The rest of the day went as normal, except Megan and Liam being more outwardly cozy together but they were cute. Lunch was awkward though Damien even though he always sat with us kept pulling my chair closer to him and after eating was straight rubbing my thigh. I know for wolves this is normal but for myself I was a little weirded out. Heading home though Megan and Damien joined us to basically out our mates. Alpha was at our place obviously wanting so Damien figured best idea to do it now. I just wanted the ground to swallow me. Megan was just worried about my parents liking her. She had it easy.

         I walked in and headed straight for dads office knowing that’s where they were. I opened the door and Alpha Luna sat on the couch, My mom stood behind my dad, and the gammas sat in chairs in front of the desk. “guys give me strength” I said to my wolf and warrior. All four of us stepped in and there was no turning back. “Alpha, Luna.” I nodded to them and said hi to Megan’s parents. “Well Vanessa I assume you know why we are here but Damien and Megan what do we owe the pleasure.” Alpha said standing. Liam cleared his throat, “Mom, dad. Megan’s my Mate.” He beamed so proudly and I couldn’t help but have to smile. Megan’s poor face turned red as she hugged her parents. Our dad walked toward them and hugged them both. I was nervous. Damien wrapped his arm around my waist. His dad saw this and looked at his Luna, Crap. “I’m going to assume Vanessa is your mate?” The Luna asked. I looked down at the floor. Damien stood straight facing this head on and said she is. My mom walked to me and put her hands on my shoulders. He warrior came forward so I let mine. We spoke in Aztec and it turned heated very fast. Soon we both yelling. My warrior left me to deal with my mom and hers. “This cant happen and will end right now. You have a duty to the tribe.” Her warrior said. I shook my head. “why would the wolf god tell his daughter to mate me if it wasn’t true, he is part of my path. I have been told this.” I said I still felt the presence of the warrior but she would not come to speak. “No you will reject this and marry a warrior from the tribe.” She roared at me. “Then I will reject the wolf warrior. I can do that and I will. I will be half a wolf and nothing more if need be.” I stepped forward. My mother shifted to her warrior. The ancient being can take over us just like the wolf. She became younger, hair full black and thick and pulled back to the traditional way the women would wear it. She had her warrior gear on and a face full of anger. I closed my eyes and brought mine forward though she fought me. Everyone stepped back as this is the first time its ever happened that they have seen it. “You will disrespect the gods like that.” “asking me to fall from my path is disrespecting them, they choice this for me. We have talked about her path, and even with the wolf god and this is the way.” My warrior said. My mother warrior snarled before bowing and saying “as you and the wolf god command” And just like that my mother was back. Mine decided to retreat as well too. I looked to her with sadness in my eyes. She walked out and I followed her.

Damien

I watched as Vanessa left with to follow her mom. I turned as well but Liam caught my arm and shook his head. “This is who want son?” My father asked stepping forward. I nodded. The Beta stood “She will still have to travel to Mexico to speak with the tribe and their elders about this. Her gift will cause tension if she decides to stay here with the pack.” “It could also make us a very powerful pack with a warrior who can command wolves.” My mother said. My mother has a bit of a hot head, she is always quick to think war is needed. “Scarlet, she may not be able to keep that ability staying with us.” My father said. He hardly used my mother’s name. Their Mate bond was so tight that he always called her a pet name so hearing her name her eyebrow raised up and she looked at him curious. He didn’t respond. “Either way we need to go to Mexico as soon as possible to have this handled.” “I would like to go since she is my Mate.” I finally spoke up. “Not that I don’t think you can handle it brother but this place are the friendliest. The only reason me and dad don’t have issue is cause he’s married to the chiefs daughter. You even being her mate, are an outsider.” Liam said. “I will still go to be by her side.” I said. “We will discus it more later. Right now let’s just enjoy the fact our kids found mate.” My father said. Everyone stood and left. I needed to go find Vanessa and talk to her about going with her to Mexico. We all walked outside to the park yard and we see Vanessa and her mom Fighting. We couldn’t tell if it was real or training. “Honey, are you guys fighting for real or training?” The beta asked walking slowly to them. “fighting.” She said. He walked closer, she pointed the sword at him “Marcus honey I love you but if you try to stop us I’ll carve you like a pumpkin.” She turned back to her daughter and the continued. They seemed equally matched and I felt like this was going to go on for a while. Liam sat on the grass followed by Megan, I looked at him in shock and he just shrugged. Vanessa’s sword was removed and her mom had both pointing at her as she smiled. “You may pursue this course and path but you will be the one to explain it the Elders and reap the consequences.” Vanessa bowed her head in defeat. “So there is someone who can beat her.” My father said. “Maria, im surprised. You are still a natural fighter.” She nodded. “Our skill is not something that fades after time, it sticks with you into the after life.”

         I stepped toward them “I would like to go to Mexico with you when you go to speak to the elders.” Vanessa looked toward her mom. She thought for a min. “Alright but remember this isn’t a wolf pack, this is a dangerous place.” She said to me. Her and Marcus headed back inside with my parents. “Well babe lets go and plan out packing.” Liam said standing and taking Megan’s hand to go inside.”

         I looked to Vanessa “What was that all about?” She smiled. “How me and mom have always settled our differences. When a warrior breaks the surface by choice or force. They crave the fight, the battle, bloodshed. So when it happens with us we come outside and fight. Its gotten better over time. Before she used disarm me more time than I care to count. She’d always toss me my sword and go again.” She said sitting down in the grass. “Has there been blood shed?” She laughed “Of course. She’s gotten me and I’ve gotten her. Its how we learn. Down in the tribe its worse, You have far more experienced fighter coming at you and they wont stop till they draw blood.” I nodded.

         “So this trip what can I expect.” She thought for a min while looking around. “Its hard to say, Everyone will be happy at first to see my family. Then when they see you there as my mate it wont be good. The meeting with the Elders can go either way. I am looking forward to showing you the cave that I told you about, the jungle my ancestors hunted in and how we do our hunting.” “The meeting?” I asked. She took a deep breath. “If they accept this, it’ll be ok. I will still have duties to the tribe which isn’t hard to handle. If they do not, I will be forced to remove the wolf warrior and my position, and possibly cast out of the tribe.” “your mom wasn’t” “She also didn’t have a responsibility to the chief at that time, Her brother was still alive, when he died she could have been added back as the heir since she was marked and mated to dad. So it fell to me.” I nodded. “What will you choose?” I couldn’t look to her my heart beat was racing and it felt like it was going to pop out of my chest. She snaked her arm around my waist and the other grabbed my arm. “I already choice.” She kissed my arm and placed her chin on it. I smiled looking down to her and kissed her forehead. I grabbed her around the waist and pulled her back to lay with me. She placed her head on my chest with her arm wrapped over my chest. I ran my fingers through her and down her arm, back as we laid there and in our thoughts. We laid for a good while just enjoying it, being together, warmed by the sun. My wolf was rolling around in my head like he was enjoying the sun as well. This was what I wanted in life, a mate to be happy with and life to have these moments in.

         “Lets go, we have to pack.” She stood sounding alittle sleepy still. “Did you fall asleep?” I ask taking her hand so I could stand “Not my fault your comfortable, and the running your hands in my hair, arm and back was relaxing.” She said picking up her flannel. I smiled at her. “Anytime I have you in my arms ill do that for you.” She stood on her toes and kissed me. “Go home alpha and go pack. Dad said we leave tomorrow morning. Be here early.” She kissed me again and turned to walk in. I headed to my car and headed home to pack. As I was Damien told me everyone is invited to stay the night that way we don’t have to worry about late risers and getting to the airport late.” I smiled night 2 with my mate in my arms?
