Vanessa

I hated the hunt. More or less I hated the male warriors. Always acting like we females wouldn’t good enough. We shift and perform on the hunt just as well as them, but they always take the kill from us. Not this year. My mother and I stepped outside and greeted the others. Carlos. He was standing in front of the rest. Puffing his chest out and eating me up with his eyes. I walked over to the chief and bowed. He pulled me into a hug and kissed me head and said “We welcome my granddaughter and daughter to the tribe as well as friends from their pack. As we do, we will have hunt for the feast. Our best warriors have been chosen to go with them and retrieve our meat for the night. May the winner bring glory to his house.” “Or hers” My mother and I both said. We all called forth our warriors as we changed. My mother and I stood proud with our weapons as we walked to the other warriors. “stay in the back as we will lead the hunt.” Carlos said to us. “Excuse me warrior, we will ne to stay in the front, and we will or we can have 2 hunting parties.” I said unmoved by his arua. He scoffed. “Chief, I call for a competition. Two hunting parties and the first to bring back the beast wins.” He thought for a moment and nodded. “All warriors who wish to side with us step forward.” My mother said as I continued my stare down with Carlos. “What makes you think you could win this.” I stepped forward getting close. I know my affect on him, he was always saying since we were kids we would be destined together. Even if I had no mate I would still never choose him for my husband. “Cause I can smell the beast” I said letting my canines show. I felt my mate behind me smiling proudly. I turned to look at him. Standing shirtless arms crossed, muscles bulging. My brother next to in the stance. Damien’s proud smirk on his face, shorts hanging low showing off the sexy v. I need to snap out of it or i’ll be forced to drag him upstairs. A few warriors walked and stood behind us. Carlos huffed. “Fine we will see who wins.” He and his warriors turned and stalked off. I turned and walked to Damien standing on m tippy toes gave his cheek a kiss. “Not sure Vanessa would like if I kissed your lips so a cheek kiss will do.” He nodded.

         We started off into the jungle and looked for tracks and signs of our animal. I brought my wolf forward to help me sniff it out. I shifted into my wolf as my fellow warriors gasped. I picked up the scent and followed it with them close on my tail. I could also smell Carlos. He was close. “Ma,” I said my mind link. She leaned down “Carlos is closing in, we need to distract them.” She nodded and ran off. Soon we heard a commotion. We continued toward the prey and soon my mother joined in. “Animal call” she said shrugging. I shifted back and soon we came to what we were tracking, wild bore. I drew my bow and arrow and aimed when another appeared. My mom did the same we would bring back both. “Wait” My cousin Eddie said, we dropped our aim, and we found babies. It was a little family, rule of our tribe we do not kill a family or babies of the animals. It was punishable up to death by decision of the chief. We stood and continued on making sure the little family ran off into the brush and didn’t leave a baby behind. Not long later another bore ran across us and It didn’t take long for me to draw, aim and fire. I was blessed with an instant kill. I hated wounding it and having to finish it as it ran off in pain. We picked it up and as we carried it back, growling was heard. Wolves had circled us. I walked up to the alpha and put my hand up and linked him. “I’m am the wolf warrior, we are passing through with our kill to our tribe may we please pass.” “We have been tracking that animal for days, we have not eaten and we have pups that need to eat.” He snarled at me showing his teeth. I looked back at me followers. “Let me talk to my group and see what they want to do, this isn’t my choice alone.” He bowed his head.

         I walked over to them and said “The alpha says they’ve been tracking this bore for days and they have eaten since. They have pup to feed as well. I told him it wasn’t my choice but all of us to choice to keep the bore or give it to them.” “We cant go back empty handed, we look like fools and weak.” “we will have saved 2 families this day Eddie. I say let them have it.” In turn everyone said their choice. “Momma” I looked to her. “You are the wolf warrior only you can decide. We take the bore, they could go days without eating again. You might be able to convince them not to attack. If they do we will have to fight back.” With that logic I looked at them and said “Set down the bore.”

         I walked back to the alpha. “We will give you your rightful kill. I do ask that you kind Alpha follow us to the village and though my link tell them what we have done.” He nodded. He followed us as we walked back never letting go of the link so I could hear his thoughts. As we returned we saw Carlos had had arrived with 2 kills. We had none. “Those bore were the family we saw earlier. He broke the rules and the babies are out there to die.” Emilio said. “Are you sure. I remember seeing the tuffs of white fur on their backs.” “The man is right little princess, we follow the rules of the jungle those bores had babies. He murdered the parents and leaving them to the jungles will.” I looked at him is disgust feeling my claws and canines pop out. “Eddie, Emilio. Go find those babies and bring them here. We will care for them.” “I will tell my best track to help find them so nothing happens in the mean time.” The wolf alpha said. I bowed in thanks. “Now for the fun.” I said and my mother smiled at me.

Liam

I was impressed by Carlos return with 2 bores. But I knew my sister was not the be out done. Damien shifted funny. “you good bro?” he shook his head. “Theres another Alpha near by, I can sense him. But somethings off.” My father and I peaked our senses to be aware. We saw Vanessa return with a wolf next to her, you could tell they were linking. I saw her eyes shifted colors and her claws extended and she snarled toward carlos with her teeth popped out. “There’s the Alpha and this could be bad.” We stood and started to make our way over to them. Vanessa moved forward and aimed an arrow at Carlos. “Carlos, you have defied the laws of the jungle and the tribe and murdered the parents of a bore family, leaving the babies to the fate of the jungle.” Her voiced boomed, eyes glowed and it wasn’t her.

         The chief stepped forward and said “How is this accusation possible.” “She’s just upset with her wolf powers she was still not a great as hunter as me.” Carlos puffed out his chest “Wrong move buddy” I thought in my head. My mom aimed her bow and the Alpha wolf snarled with teeth barred and eyes glowing. “We have seen and tracked that family but we as even animals follow the order better than you. You killed them in cold blood. I cam here to speak on behalf of the princess, She spared the family, and even saved my pack giving us the bore they had killed so my pups could eat.” The wolf spoke. “What trick is this you are using to make this poor beast talk.” We all growled. “The only beast here is you. I have seen the things you have done in the Jungle. You can not hide from our eyes. This has been the final straw, Chief deal with him in manner see fit, You will not like if have to take my human form.” Her eyes stopped glowing but she did not lower her bow. “The humans are back.” The wolf said. Emilio and Eddie stepped out carrying 4 baby bores. Some of my tias stepped forward to take them and care for them. “They have seen this family with their own eyes as well chief. The wolf speaks truth. We gave up our kill for their pack. They had tracked the bore for days and it was their rightful kill. We return empty handed but clean handed none the less.” She said. “Carlos you have hear by stripped of you warrior status until you can earn it back and you tend detail with the women until I see fit. You have brought shame to us from the gods.” He yelled and stalked off. My mother and sister lowed their bows. She turned to the Wolf and low bowed thanking him. He looked to us and back to my sister, she smiled and he trotted off to the jungle. We walked up and hugged them. “What did he say?” She smiled.

“He sensed your status and although Alphas bow to no one, he says we are welcomed in his jungle” My mother and Sister shifted from their warriors and embraced their mates. “Where’s Megan?” “She’s asleep.” I said nodding toward where our room was. My dad, and Damien smiled big. “Why?” Mom asked. I moved my shirt to show my marking. Vanessa gasped and slapped my arm. “Why did I get hit?” I asked her. “I don’t know it felt like the sister thing to do.” She shrugged. “well when you get marked im hitting you.” “Ha shouldn’t you hit him, I mean he’s the one who is going to mark me and mate me” She wiggled her eyebrows. The protective brother side came out and I glared at Damien. “Alpha or not, don’t hurt my sister.” He stood behind Vanessa like she was going to protect him.

“What are you going to do? She’s mated now. He wont let her go willingly.” “We kill him. I’m still the strongest warrior here.” I watched as they embraced getting angry. She was supposed to be promised to me. She was supposed to be mine. “If we kill him it could kill her.” I shook my head “only her wolf will die, her warrior will survive, and then we start our plan to take over all the tribes. Show everyone we Aztecs are still to be feared.” No matter what the chief says we will end his life and she will be mine again. A strong warrior couple to rule and take over.
