Chapter 5

1305 Words
Atlas cut his eyes at Namakaeha, “Why is a human drinking blood?” “People have different taste buds. Blood happens to be one of my daughter’s things. That’s all you need to know.” Namakaeha clinches his fist, thinking he shouldn’t have permitted them to come here. "Well, at least my daughter is free of their miscreant asses.” Everyone in the room looks at Namakaeha, a confused expression on their faces. Apollo takes the glass from Atlas, drinks a small sip, and hands it to Ares. Ares also sipped the blood. Their mother and father are wondering why they are drinking Kaimana’s blood. Namakaeha believes it’s a way for them to feel close to his daughter. And thought "that's the only way you three will get close to my little girl." Ares set the glass on the table. “Are our mate and that Beta a couple? It’s something about their closeness that neither of my brothers is comfortable with.” “Son, my daughter, and Alessio's relationship isn’t any of my business or yours and your brothers. Kaimana isn’t your mate anymore. You three jumped the gun and rejected her. Now deal with the consequences and move on.” Namakaeha walks out of the dining room. Bronte leans back in the chair, “taste buds my ass. Why would a human drink blood? Maybe since her mother was human and Namakaeha is a shifter. And she doesn’t have a wolf. But the mixture has caused Kaimana to like blood." He looked around the room at his mate and three sons, shaking their heads. “Hell, it does sound preposterous. That’s the only thing I could come up with." ***** Kaimana and Alessio are walking toward the main packhouse, discussing their house guests. She wants him to keep an eye on them. She feels greed in Bronte and Ginerra's hearts, and doesn’t trust them. The only reason her father agreed to train them was because he and Bronte met when they were in their early teens. Rogues were kidnapping future Alphas. They only captured Namakaeha because an ex-girlfriend of his father's wanted revenge. Lavender thought she would be Luna, but when Makoa broke up with her a month before his eighteenth birthday. This didn’t sit well with her. Nine months later, he found his mate, Noelani. Makoa offered to give Lavender money for her to leave the pack, but she refused. He couldn’t banish her because she hadn’t broken any rules. Makoa and Noelani never knew she had found her mate, Acacia Koa, a well-known, ruthless rogue. Lavender drugged Namakaeha's dinner one name and kidnapped him. When he woke up, he was in a cage with two other boys his age. One of them was Brontë. The three future Alphas worked together and escaped, and told their parents where Acacia and Lavender's location was. But when their fathers and the warriors arrived there, it was empty. Sometimes, Bronte always mentions how they help each other escape when he wants something from Namakaeha. Kaimana's cell phone rings, and she giggles when she sees Shemar’s name on the screen. Alessio chuckles, looking at her, agreeing to meet him at Nanakuli Beach Park. She asks if she should bring a bathing suit and giggles again as she’s hanging up. He looks at her, “I take it the answer was no about the bathing suit.” She bites her lower lip, “What do you think? I need to change clothes.” Kaimana’s running toward the patio. Alessio was running behind her. “Who is this man?” "Shemar Iwalani,” she looks back at him. "He's sexy and handsome as hell." “Isn’t he a rogue?” He stops running, looking at her confused. “Yep, I don’t care what he is. I like him.” She enters the house. Alessio walks into the house thinking, “The strongest Alpha and a billionaire rogue. This is a new one.” He goes into the den where Alika, Moon, and Namakaeha are. Moon asks where Kaimana is. He tells her she’s getting ready for her date. Namakaeha is curious about the man that his daughter seems to be head-over-heels for. “Did she mention this young man’s name?” He looks around the room at everyone but doesn’t get a reply. “I’m not about to break the news to Alpha that our Alpha might mate with a rogue. Nope, not me.” Alessio thinks, then frowns, looking at the triplets and their parents entering the room. Alika knows that Alessio knows who his sister’s date is. She wouldn’t go anyplace at night without him or Alessio knowing her whereabouts and who she was with. He’s wondering why Alessio lied to his father. Ares, Atlas, and Apollo look around the room for Kaimana, then sniff. They look at each other and then toward the stairs. Bronte and Ginerra sit down listening to Namakaeha informing them to be on the field at eight in the morning and that no one should be late. What caught the triplet's attention was when he said anyone late would be punished by Kaimana. Her time is valuable, and she starts the training session off on time. “She’s human, how can she train with shifters?” Ares looked at Namakaeha only to be ignored. Apollo is about to say something when Kaimana enters the room dressed in an apricot hollow knitted patchwork backless halter mini dress and apricot thong sandals. She sees the lustful stares from the triples, “Father, remember if I’m not here when you get up, don’t worry.” Her father nods, “Okay, sweetheart, be careful and have a wonderful time.” "I'm sure I will." She's thinking. Atlas folds his arms. “Where are you going?” She doesn’t answer him and walks toward the hallway. “Kaimana, you heard Atlas.” Ares walks beside Atlas and folds his arms. "Answer him.” Apollo steps between her and the hallway. She looks him up and down. “If you remember, I told you three that I don’t answer to either of you. “ Kaimana points to her father. “That man on the sofa is the only person I answer to. Move, or should I make you move?” Apollo narrows his eyes and slowly steps back. He scratches his head and points at Kaimana, walking out of the room. "I must be hallucinating.” He looks at his two brothers. “I could have sworn our mate’s eyes turned reddish brown.” Alika stood up, “Do not refer to my sister as your mate again. You rejected her, and she accepted it. Don’t let me tell you again.” He gives Apollo, Ares, and Atlas stern stares. Namakaeha clears his throat, “My son is correct. Maybe you three should call it a night or go on the patio and get some fresh air.” Bronte knows Namakaeha isn’t happy about the way his sons are acting. He doesn’t want to be asked to leave. Without Ilio Hihiu's help, there's no way he could gain his territory back. “Sons, I agree. Besides, Alika is right. You three made your choices. Now let Kaimana alone.” Ginerra and the triplets' heads snapped, looking at Bronte. Then he tells them through their links that he must pretend to agree. But he has no plan to let their mate get away from them.” Namakaeha, Alessio, and Alika are aware they are communicating through their links. Namakaeha informs Alika and Alessio if one of the jerks breaks any rules by throwing their ass into the dungeon. That includes Bronte and his Luna. As of now, his debt has been paid in full to Bronte. Kaimana picked up on a lot of things that I dislike.
