They came out of the thick plants like shadows. There were three of them, smooth and looking dangerous. Their eyes glowed like read. They walked closer and closer, ready to attack. Every part of their bodies promised danger. I could feel Keith’s fear and it was just like mine. We were stuck. The jungle, which was our only chance to get away, had become a trap. My mind was racing, looking for a way out that wasn't there. I squeezed my eyes shut for just a second. I sent a quick, desperate wish. Please, not now. Not Keith. Just as the first wolf lowered its head, ready to jump, something moved fast through the trees. A much bigger wolf, a beautiful and scary one, jumped into the fight.
