The day of Elina's birthday came faster than she'd anticipated. Elinor had gone out into the city to get a few things that the little girl might like. She spent some money to buy Marilyn and her husband, Fred, a couple of things as well.
"Are you ready?" Raden came out of the closet with a jacket draped across his forearm. He stood behind Elinor to look at himself in the mirror. Elinor watched his reflection behind him and nodded.
"Yeah, let's go."
Alister was back from his trip so they could go without any worries. In fact, meeting Marilyn and her family was not a big deal for Raden. After all, he did not share an emotional bond with them at any point in his life. But seeing how it affected Elinor, he was more worried about her.
