Every part of her body was like art. She had on a mask that hid half of her face, showing just her eyes and lips. Just her being there felt enough to make any man want her badly.
“Moon Goddess,” Liam (his wolf) whispered as she walked to join the other girls, her legs moving smoothly like music. Luther Steph could feel something he hadn’t before. He was getting aroused, and it shocked him. No woman had ever made him feel this way. He never thought any woman was fine enough to catch his eye, but now, he couldn’t stop staring at her.
He clenched his hand into a fist when he saw her walk up the stairs and start dancing on the pole. Every guy was yelling for her, wanting to touch or claim her, but she didn’t pay them any attention. She was just moving her body with the beat, enjoying the moment until her eyes landed on Luther. To her, it felt like everything paused for a second.
She stood still on the platform, and then her eyes locked with Luther Steph's. They stared at each other deeply.
Liam, his wolf, jolted inside him when he sensed a strange pull dragging him toward her. And then he heard a word he never thought he’d hear.
“Mate.”
Luther felt his whole world shift with just one word from his wolf. He lowered his head a little and let out a bitter laugh, shaking his head as if life had played another trick on him. He stopped laughing and looked up at the girl with a blank expression. Her eyes were still locked on his, showing no feeling at all.
“Our mate,” his wolf, Liam, repeated excitedly in his mind, eager to get closer to her.
“Stop it… If you don’t want me to end her,” Luther muttered sharply, staring at the woman getting down from the stage.
She stepped down from the platform and began moving toward him, staring straight at him without even blinking.
“Ugh… My mate is a weak woman… What kind of joke is this, Moon Goddess?” Luther muttered under his breath, trying to dislike the stunning woman in front of him. He assumed, like most women in the club, she would throw herself at him.
“You want to hurt our mate?” Liam asked, surprised.
“Maybe I’ll change my mind. Let’s enjoy her before we end her,” Luther said with a crooked grin, showing just how much he wanted to touch her… To pin her beneath him and feel her soft body. He smirked as she walked closer, but that grin faded when she passed him and went straight to the man standing behind him.
Luther couldn't believe what he was seeing. Shock didn’t even come close to what he felt. He turned around and saw a woman handing a drink to a man. No, not just any man , his rival, Adre, the reason he came here in the first place. Japhet grabbed a glass of liquor from the table and swallowed it all at once.
“That backstabber,” Luther hissed, his jaw tightening as he noticed how Adre was eyeing her body with hunger in his eyes.
Luther crushed the glass in his hand when he saw her move her hips and slowly walk in a circle around the man.
“You came here to see and talk to this girl?” Luther growled, his anger spilling over onto Liam. All he wanted was to drag her away from Adre, press his lips to hers, and mark her as his in front of everyone.
That woman flinched when she felt someone staring at her. She turned and looked at Luther. Their eyes locked again, long enough for him to know she had seen him. He gave a small smile, sure she would walk over to him. But his hope shattered when Adre wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close.
She glanced at Adre, then down at his hand. Slowly, she pushed his arm off and turned to face him. Then she leaned in and whispered in his ear.
“I’ll meet you in the room..just give me a few minutes,” she said softly, giving him a wink while pointing to the back where the VIPs were heading with the girls they picked for the night.
“She chose that lowlife over us,” Luther scoffed, his voice tight with rage. His beta, Micha, turned to look at him, eyes wide in shock. This was the first time he had seen his Alpha acting possessively over a woman after Valentine
Luther didn’t even care when he saw his fiancée kissing someone else, but now he was boiling with rage like a wild beast, ready to tear Adre apart for touching a woman he didn’t even know. “This is getting interesting,” Micha thought as he stepped closer to Luther.
“Who is she?” he asked.
“My mate,” Luther answered with a straight face, his eyes locked on Adre, who gave a smug smile and walked toward the rooms while the other women headed to the back of the bar.
Luther followed her, forgetting he had come for Adre, not her. He searched the place for her, but it was like she had disappeared into thin air.
"She was your mate?" Micha asked, staring at his Alpha with wide eyes. Luther groaned and glanced at him.
"She is... Can you believe how the Moon Goddess is messing with me? She matched me with a weak human... And don’t forget, she’s a..." He stopped himself and groaned again. "I don’t even want to think about how many guys she’s been with," he hissed, pacing back and forth, burning with anger as the image of Adre touching her kept flashing in his mind and driving him mad.
"Alpha..." Micha’s eyes widened when he saw the same woman standing behind Luther. He tried to speak, but Luther cut him off.
"Ohh Micha... Don’t start with your idea that she’s here because of some sad excuse. She came because she wanted to. It was obvious when she flirted with Adre and asked him to spend the night with her. Even if the Moon Goddess matched us, she'll never be my wife.. or anyone related to me at that"
She’s a stain on the beings the Moon Goddess made, and with her around, my name will go down too. I don’t want anything to do with a woman like her. She doesn’t even deserve to be near me... Giving her a place in my heart is too much," Luther Steph said, spitting out harsh words, calling his mate names one after another.
"She’s behind you," Micha said, cutting off his Alpha’s rant. Luther’s eyes shot up. He turned and saw her staring at him.
"Oh god," he mumbled and swore under his breath. He thought she’d explode or yell at him for what he just said, but again, she did the opposite. She walked by him like he didn’t exist. Like his words meant nothing to her.
