Eryx POV I led the men myself, hands firm on the wheel as the engine of my truck roared to life. Four trucks cut through the sand covered forest path, headlights piercing the darkness, illuminating trees that towered like silent sentinels. The road wound and dipped, packed with heavy sands in some areas, loose gravel in others, but I drove steadily. No hesitation. No fear. I had no time for distractions. “Keep your eyes open,” I said into the radio, my voice low but commanding. “If you see even a single movement, let me know immediately.” The forest answered only with silence.
