LEIGH As I woke up with a stretch, my cheek pressed into a warm pillow, a soft weight shifted across my back. I blinked into the soft morning light, head turned to the side, and smiled at the sight of Ava's hair fanned across my bare arm like silk threads. She must have slipped into my bed during the night while I was asleep, and from the steadiness of her breath, I could tell she was having a decent sleep. My chest stayed still for a few more seconds.
