A touch gently stroking my hand, woke me out of the most uncomfortable sleep of my life. The first thing that I felt is the scorching pain radiating from my neck. My hand went to the area as I tried to rub the stiffness away.
“Why are you sleeping here?” I blink to see Alana sitting beside me on one of the steel chairs that are all joined together to form a row.
“Alana? What are you doing here? You should be with Maddie, not here..” my voice came unintentionally came out in a high-pitched tone.
“I know, I know. Mom’s taking care of Maddie.” She shrugged her shoulders. “I couldn’t be at home in peace when my cousin is lying in a hospital bed.”
“Did you see him?” I asked, fresh tears threatening to spit out of my eyes for not being able to go near Jinn like the others did
