Chapter 23

I can"t believe Granny still makes me go to school the next day. I trudge out to the bus stop, grumbling about missing out on what"s gonna happen while I"m gone. Making my way to the classroom, everyone hushes and stares when I pass by, but they don"t say anything. The whole town probably knows by now that Uncle Billy stood up to the new bosses and got fired. When I catch a glimpse of their expressions, I see both pity and snotty, told-you-so-they-are-all-witches looks. I"m tempted to toss a few of them around with my new lifting powers, but I haven"t practiced on people-moving yet. The other thing is, since getting my pillow to rise involves me convincing it that it wants to fly like a bird, I"m not sure if this will work on my classmates.
