Undressed By The Alpha

2. The mouth watering offer!

Amber's POV. 

The party had already been over for a few hours. I had changed my clothes and also took a shower in the employee’s room before leaving the hotel. I was feeling disgusted after beating that bastard man whore so I needed to calm myself down. On the way I noticed that Beta Luis was waiting for me in the hallway impatiently. He was running his hand through his hair while he was in deep thought. As soon as his gray eyes perceived my presence he gave me a gentle smile and began to lead the way to the restaurant of the hotel which was open 24 hours. It was located on the ground floor of the hotel. The employees who usually work here smiled at me. I smiled back. Even though we had never actually worked together, everyone normally treated each other with smiles as all of tus were lone wolves.

 I was following Beta Luis quietly but my mind was wondering about all the possibilities as to what their proposition would entail. Why had he not done anything when I raised my hand to a member of a pack? The crime I had just committed was like killing someone in front of the police officer or member of the media. I should have been dead by now but he had just walked out of the bathroom at the time informing me that he would be waiting for me in this restaurant.

 Alpha Oscar had said something about bringing his banished son back to the pack. He had been waiting for me for a decent amount of time and I could feel his desperation as I approached. It appeared that this matter was very important to him. It was not prudent to make him wait any further, so I decided to quicken my step. Beta Luis opened the door for me asking me to enter first. I was quite surprised at his show of politeness. Was it because he was from a rich and famous pack? Maybe they needed to maintain their status or maybe they were always chivalrous towards women no matter if they were lone wolf or from a pack. However, I was not going to jump into the conclusion based on his actions,  the matter was still fishy.

 The distinguished Alpha Oscar was waiting patiently for me in the restaurant. He had chosen a table near the window which had given him a good view of the busy city. His expression was unreadable but I could tell there were many thoughts going on in his mind. Hot coffee had turned cold  in his pondering. His eyes decided to turn when he realized my presence. He studied me closely as I made my way closer to him. Even though he was not looking at me in a negative way, that could still not pacify my suspicion of him. Was that due to the fact that I already knew that he had a hidden agenda in approaching me? Or maybe it was because it was the first time that I was meeting a big, strong Alpha. 

"I don't think so," my wolf Ava interrupted my thoughts instantly.

"So what is the reason?" I questioned back.

 "Let's go and find out. First let him speak first and then decide," she suggested. 

Beta Luis pulled out a chair for me. Once I was seated I noticed that there was no one else present in the restaurant, only us. There were also reserved signs on all the tables proving that the Alpha had been the one who had booked the whole hotel. He had not wanted to be bothered by crowds or questioning eyes. I kept my purse in my lap as a waiter arrived serving me a cappuccino. The order had already been placed before my arrival. I gazed at my favorite type of coffee with my eyebrows snapped together. The corner of my mouth quirked up as my long fingers danced on the corner of the cup as I spoke.

 "Looks like you have come here well prepared after running a thorough background check. I hope you haven't put sugar in this."  

 Picking up the cup I looked at him. As soon as it touched my lips,I took a small sip of my favorite coffee. Alpha Oscar smiled at me.

 "It is a necessary part of the  process. If I want to give you important work to do for me, then I have to investigate your background. I am not looking for a fragile and weak flower, but a courageous and intelligent person. You are the end result of my search." 

 I again sensed confidence in his words. I was his choice, he was proud and confident in that fact. I still did not understand him but I wanted to know more. I kept my coffee on the table, placing one hand on top of the other. 

 "Earlier this evening you told me that you wanted me to bring your banished son back to your pack," I pointed out  from our previous conversation and continued. 

 "I was sure that before me you had a number of people sign up for this job but they all failed and could not keep up with your expectations. I am also sure that you must have hired men before approaching me. If a man could not bring your son back then how would I be able to do it?"

 An Alpha like him would never normally take this type of risk by offering this type of job to a lone wolf like me. Men would always be men, they would never offer women kindness and respect unless they were unable to do the work themselves. The way he had investigated my background to the point that he knew my favorite type of coffee informed me that he wanted to make sure that I was capable of achieving his desired results. 

He leaned back in his chair as his eyes studied me with amazement. The whole time I was talking to him or he was telling me something, his eyes were closely studying my facial expressions. Maybe he wanted to find out if I was nervous or scared of him because he was an Alpha. When I finally pointed out this fact to him, he looked a little shocked. Beta Luis had positioned himself behind his Alpha when we had sat down, he also observed me during the entire conversation. Alpha Oscar took a deep breath deciding to  finally open up. 

"Yes you are correct. Before you I  had appointed many different men, warriors even, but not even my most trusted men could make my son return to the pack. Convincing my son Sebastian is not child's play. Even though he was banished from the pack since birth he has a dangerous personality, a dark aura and…" he abruptly stopped talking like he was hiding something about his son. I put both my hands on the table, staring at him intently.

 "And what Alpha Oscar? I don't think you should hide something from me if you are expecting me to accept a contract with you." 

 His eyes went to his Beta, I was also nervous as I was sure that both of them were hiding something from me. It was like they did not want to disclose whatever that particular information was. 

 "I am sorry to say this, but if you continue to hide this from me then I will not be able to do anything for you," I declared, having decided to leave.

 "The people who went to bring my son back, they never come back,"Alpha Oscar revealed while not quite making eye contact. I can't lie,as soon as he completed his unfinished words it caused chills to set in my bones. He said there was something dangerous about his son which was highly unexpected for me. Now I understood the reason behind him not telling me the whole truth. Maybe he was thinking that I was going to run away. I’m sure this was his past experience with other candidates before me so he always thought before divulging this alarming information now. I adjusted my expression along with my body language.

 "May I ask the reason?" 

My unexpected question changed his facial expression. Maybe he was expecting that I would vanish as soon as he would reveal the outcomes of his previous candidates. Suddenly a thought occurred to me and  I immediately changed my question.

 "May I know who your son is?" If someone had disappeared, never to return after meeting his son then he must be someone who you could not lay a finger on. I wanted to know who this man was.

 "Sebastian Howard." 

 My eyebrows drew together when I realized that the name sounded familiar. I was unable to figure out where I heard the name before. 

 "Sebastian is my second son as well as the richest man in the country. I need him to take over my position as an Alpha,"the Alpha clarified. It felt like my blood had been replaced with ice water when I explained the true identity of his son. My mind had totally neglected the fact that he was his second son and that the Alpha wanted him to take over his position not his first son. I started to feel how small I was in this world in comparison to the illusion of his big buildings, hotels, and many businesses that he owns. I also got my answer as to why the people who went to bring him back to Alpha Oscar had all disappeared. He was a fucking billionaire! A god-like man of the country and some said that he had his hands in the mafia too!

 News about him seemed to be everywhere. I never knew that he was the son of Alpha Oscar. There were so many rumors surrounding him, the most important and dangerous thing was that no one ever knew anything about his appearance. He was the richest man in the country, a billionaire but no one had ever been able to leak his photo. Few in the world knew what he looked like and those belonged in his innermost circle. There was even a saying that he was more poisonous than cyanide. 

 In this world where Oscar and other powerful packs had created their own glory and dominance. Sebastian Howord on the other hand, had created his own world where no one could step foot against his will. He was self centered, arrogant, and a notoriously selfish billionaire. 

 He was known for his dominance and arrogance but I had no idea that even his father, the almighty Alpha Oscar could not bring his son back. Maybe it was also a big secret as to why he had been banished since his birth. It was all a big mystery that I was being pulled into. 

 "What do you want me to do?" I asked as Beta Luis stopped biting his nails nervously as he must have been expecting that I was going to turn down his Alpha’s proposal. Alpha Oscar’s face lit up.

 "I want you to bring my son back to the pack and convince him to take over my Alpha position. He is the only one who is capable of this, I firmly believe that you are the only one who can change his mind. I have investigated your past and found out what you have gone through. I also witnessed  first hand tonight, what you did in the ladies bathroom defending that woman. I want a strong person like you who can face my domineering son without fear. Only you can persevere against him as I can see that you are also not afraid of me." 

 Alpha Oscar had explained everything in one breath like he was waiting for the moment when I would ask all of this. I took a deep breath, leaning against my chair, still keeping  my hands on my lap. 

 "You want me to do something impossible, but if you have investigated my past then you also know that I am a very busy person. I have my own dreams that I wish to achieve and for that I need to earn money. I cannot just up and leave my job in this hotel to go search for your son. The life of a lone wolf in this world is already horrible, I cannot take the chance of giving up my job to accept yours when I am not getting anything. Sorry to disappoint you but I cannot accept your proposal," I declared, rejecting him politely. He panicked but quickly hid it behind his well maintained dedicated facial expression. He could not let his reputation and status that he maintained down in front of me. 

 "I can understand your concerns, Miss Amber," Alpha started with a small smile, pushing his coffee  away that had turned cold. The waitress placed a new cup of coffee in front of him. 

 "But I can promise you that your current job has nothing in front of the one I am offering you right now," he had an evil smile on his face as he took a sip of his coffee. Suddenly curiosity started to dominate my mind and my wolf as to what it was. Beta Louis put a contract in front of me that he had been holding a long time. 

 "What is it?" I asked without looking at it. I was not going to show them that I was curious more than anything. If they had gotten the wrong idea that I was a money grabbing bitch or a gold digger then they were only going to be disappointed. I was not an easy woman to please if they were what they were expecting. 

 "It is not money miss Amber," Beta Luis clarified. Maybe he had predicted my behavior about money and other things or he found out during my background check.

 "We are already aware that we could not buy you with money," he added with a sweet smile. Alpha Oscar agreed with him that was the moment I finally looked down to the contract. 

 "If you agree and then actually succeed in bringing Sebastian back to turn him into the new Alpha then you will get to become the Beta to my son," I immediately looked up to Alpha Oscar who had said something unbelievable. Beta to his son! I had to stop myself or I was going to prove that I was indeed stupid if I let them see my jaw drop.

" I will also give you a place in my pack. You will become one of my pack numbers!" His declaration totally turned my whole world upside down. 

 He was saying something that was impossible. In this world being a lone wolf was not easy not only because of the packs but there was an even more dangerous threat to our lives that was always present, rogues. 

 Insidious, conspirators, and abhorrent  they were the greatest threat to our existence. Being a lone wolf, we neither got protection from any pack nor shelter in any safe place. Since the war, no lone wolf could pass within 1000 meters of a pack border going on their actual land was strictly forbidden. Breaking the rules and regulations made for lone wolves would lead to punishment and most likely death. All of us had to live our lives only in the urban city areas which  were neural zones that were fraught with troubles and perils.

 Lone wolf’s life was like a house of cards, which the rogues were always destroying. The reason for this was probably only due to the fact that they wanted to threaten the presence of the lone wolf by doing so or these rogues used to play with our lives for their enjoyment. Their most common victims were women and young girls walking alone, who could be caught and raped in the dark alleys of the night.

Even if these incidents were seen by anyone, then all other lone wolves would have ignored it and moved ahead. Perhaps the other side of this coin was that in spite of seeing everything, everyone was forced to turn a blind eye because maybe they knew that they did not want to be their next victim. It had always been my dream to get out of the life of this worm and join a safe pack, no matter how small the pack was.

 That was why I had trained myself like a warrior. I prepared myself hard and acquired all the knowledge of the art of warfare by hiding. But in one corner of my heart I knew that no matter how hard I worked, I would never be included in any pack. Before my existence and identity, my ability would always remain dim, but today I could see my dream coming true. Here the Alpha of Eclipse Moon pack, the largest and most powerful pack, was offering me a position in his pack. It was all a dream for me, but my wolf's enthusiasm was telling me it was all true. After all, who doesn't want a secure future? I too had dreams and one of them was this. 

 "It is a golden opportunity for you to Miss Amber. You will get everything you ever want in your life. You will be recognized by the world when you join our pack," the Beta highlighted as I was dreaming about my golden future. This was what I had always desired. How could I get this so easily? I was happy. So happy. 

 "You will also no longer be recognized as a lone wolf. You will have the identity as a member of my pack," Alpha Oscar added. Hearing his words I was finally pulled out of my dream and back firmly to reality. The smile disappeared from my lips. 

 “What?” I asked and he smiled.

 “Yes, everything you heard is true,” Beta Luis reassured. My mind went blank and I cursed myself for being stupid.

 "I cannot do this. I cannot leave the other lone wolves behind and join the pack. I could not stoop so low, be that selfish only for my own personal gain and security," I spoke everything without conscious thought but they both heard me. For a minute I totally lost my mind when I was going to accept his proposal. It was wrong to leave the other lone wolves behind to let them die in this injustice and torture. I had always been one of them and knew how they had survived in this world.

 "But why?" The Alpha inquired.

 "If I joined the pack then I would be the only one who will have a secured future but what about the other lone wolves?" 

 "They are not relatives or friends to you. They are nothing to you so why do you need to think about them? Everyone has their own destiny, they will get what they deserve. So why are you paying attention to them?" He countered.

 As soon as I heard his question the memories of past of my survival, the torture, the injustice, and my nightmare flashed in my mind’s eye. In those few seconds I relived my horrible past. Alpha Oscar was staring at me, waiting for my reply with his Beta. I smiled a little, replying to Alpha.

 "If I ask you to leave your pack members behind, would you ever be able to do it?" He was taken back by my question and could not come up with any reply."No, right? Then you understand me, Alpha Oscar," I explained in a calm tone.

 "I decline your proposal, Alpha Oscar. I am not the one who you are searching for. I hope someone will be capable of achieving the job and that you will find him soon. Goodbye," I announced as I immediately got up from the table. Both of them had panicked expressions on their faces. Maybe they never expected that after offering that mouth watering offer, I was going to deny them without giving it a second thought. I grabbed my purse and began to make my way out but then Alpha Oscar pushed his chair back as he stood up quickly.

 "If you accept the proposal then…" he voiced loudly, making me stop in my tracks. I had looked back at him, where I could see he was battling himself about whatever he was going to announce. I also noticed he and his Beta were mind linking each other. Irritation was clearly seen on Alpha’s face. Maybe he was considering the suggestion of his Beta and could not bring himself to agree. They continued for another 10 seconds as I  patiently waited for them. 

 They ended their mind link. Alpha Oscar gave a look to Beta Luis before he started to make his way closer to me. I felt his aura change when he approached me with the same contract papers that I left on the table. He was standing right in front of me with a sufficient distance between us and the next thing I knew was he placed the contract in my hand before he declared. 

 "If you accept my proposal then you will not only get the position of Beta in my pack. You will also gain  many benefits for the lone wolves of the country. If you succeed and do whatever I want, corresponding to this contract then maybe according to their performance lone wolves will get their freedom like the packs. I will make it possible!" 

 I was stunned.

 "What? Are you serious? We could have our freedom?" Mia exclaimed, giving me a horrible expression like she witnessed a ghost. I looked around to see the bar where we were chatting as she continually drank. Due to her high pitched voice they were watching us.

 "Yes, if I sign those papers and bring the Alpha’s son back then it is possible," my eyes went to the papers which had so many clauses, one of which was that I could not mess with the other pack members. I could not have a relationship with them or with his son. I would work as I had been instructed. The relationship thing was bothering me and it proved that Alpha had insecurities because I was a lone wolf mingling with pack members or people close to him. Or that it was going to bring dishonour to his reputation. I chuckled. He had made the contract very carefully, paying attention to the clauses as I was a female who could attract male wolves. He specially bolded his son's name telling me that not to let my hormones lose ever. What the hell! Was he a god?! Just because he was Alpha and billionaire I would drool for him? What a joke!

 "It means we could also join packs. We would get freedom, security, food, and wealth. We would not need to be afraid of rogue attacks anymore. The most important thing is we would not be bullied by packs!" Mia said loudly, still not able to digest all the unexpected information that was a new turn of events in lone wolf life. I again gave her a slight nod.

 "Its fucking awesome, Amber!!!" She finally screamed, accepting everything as a reality. Taking more than three shots continuously. I just let out a small laugh seeing her excitement. 

 "Then what did you reply?" She asked, after drinking yet another shot her face was like a blooming flower.

 "I told him that I needed time to think," Mia slammed the glass on the table again giving me a withering expression. All the alcohol she drank in enthusiasm, her intoxication evaporated with my words. 

"After showing me the impossible and golden opportunities, how can you suddenly shatter my golden future? Before I get mad, tell me you're kidding me!” she gritted her teeth in anger, giving me a warning glare. 

 "I am telling you the truth. I need some time to think, at least give me some fucking hours!"  I demanded. Her face caved like a withered flower. Suddenly her glare turned into puppy eyes as she joined her hands in front of me.

 "Please please please I beg you to accept his proposal! It is really a big turning point in our lives. I believe you can change things, give us a comfortable and secure life that you had always dreamed," she begged. Now she was seriously stressed out because I did not give her any reply. 

 We both left the bar and I entered my home.  I instantly went to the shower and spent an hour under the warm spray thinking about everything that had happened today. The contract, his offer, everything had seemed like a dream. It was not a normal thing that had happened. Later I was sitting on my bed once again reading the contract, for the third time. 

 After some time I was standing on my balcony, I witnessed abuse that was going on in front of my home. My heart hurt as if someone was stabbing me with a dagger. She was not even 18 and was living through forced sex. My phone vibrated in my hand and I noticed that it was Beta Louis. Alpha Oscar agreed to give me 2 hours to think but now I took four hours. Alpha Oscar was really desperate for his son. 

 "Hello." 

 "Miss Amber, Alpha wants to know your answer. I know you did not have enough time to think but we are also in a tight spot. I hope you will agree with us."  

 I lifted my eyes, staring at the girl who was lying on the floor in pain. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath. 

 "I will be taking the offer," I declared.

 "I am glad to hear that!" He was over the moon, I could tell that he was hell nervous.  

"Then please send us the signed contract and your work starts tomorrow! Good luck to you, Miss Amber!" 

 He hung up, I instantly sat on the floor pulling at my hair. 

 'What the hell have I done! Now I need to bring the Alpha’s banished son who also happens to be the richest and most dangerous in the country!'"

 "Fuck!!!"
