Lila sat curled up on the sofa across from me, her blonde curls bouncing as she laughed at a silly story I just finished telling her about my week at the bookstore.
It feels good to sit and chat with my best friend, a good distraction from me thinking about Caleb.
I hesitate, biting my lip. I wasn't sure how to bring this up, but I know I have to tell her about my strange encounter yesterday.
"So..." I begin, clearing my throat. "Something kind of weird happened at the bookstore yesterday."
