I hear loud music and laughter as Lila pulls me into the party.
"Isn't this amazing, Emma?" Lila shouts over the pulsating bass. She grabs my hand, attempting to pull me into the throng of dancers. I hesitate for a moment, my heart pounding in time with the music.
"Come on, let loose!" Lila urges. Reluctantly, I allow myself to be dragged into the crowd, the rhythm taking control of my body.
As we dance, I can't help but scan the room for any sign of Caleb. My heart races at the thought of him – the mysterious man whose presence has turned my world upside down. His intense gray eyes seem to haunt my every waking moment, stirring up feelings I never knew I had.
"Emma, stop looking around. He will be here soon," Lila says, catching my wandering gaze.
I nod, forcing a smile onto my face.
