Bree and I spend the next two weeks ‘on vacation’ in my apartment. A lot of it is spent in bed, naturally, but during the rest of the time, we talk and make plans for the future. Bree decides we should stay in the palace, at least for now. She likes that it’s close to my work and that it’s secure without being restrictive. After three years of near-total isolation, she finds crowds of people a little overwhelming. She jumps every time someone knocks at our door even if she tries to brush it off. That will ease with time, I’m sure, but for now, it’s reassuring for her to know that anyone inside this part of the palace has already been vetted by me and my team.
She takes me up on my offer to redecorate the apartment, and she enlists the help of both Quinn and Salazar’s mate
