Yasmine looked at a flushed Roxie who stood trembling in front of her. “They’re both vampires.” Roxie said in tears. “I saw them, they got in separate cars. Jasper was heading to the interstate, and William going deeper into the isolated parts of Devil’s Horns.”
Yasmine nodded slowly and Stephan looked at Roxie carefully, “Did you see anything else?” Roxie thought and then suddenly remembered, “Yeah, there was this old man who had showed up the other night. It was weird because…he smelled like Jasper does. It just…it smelt different but the base of it was the same.”
Davon jerked back confused, “That happens with family members. The core smell of them might smell the same, a little different, but the foundation might have the same layers.”
Roxie nodded as Davon looked at Yasmine who seemed deep in thought. “You okay sweetie?” Yasmine nodded and whispered, “I just can’t believe it. Jasper AND William chose to do this?”
Stephan picked up on that part as he thought out loud, “Well they might not have had a choice in the matter.” Yasmine and Davon looked at him surprised, “You think they were forced?” Davon asked surprised.
Stephan held up his hands, “I wasn’t in the house. But Roxie said she saw two men from the vampire family had been hurt after the old man arrived. So, for all we know, something went wrong, they got hurt, and now they’re both vampires.”
Yasmine breathed out, “Could be possible. But we won’t know until we talk to Jasper and William.” Stephan’s eyes flashed to Davon and then Yasmine as he asked, “And the old man…could he be of relation to Jasper or his father?”
Shrugging Yasmine admitted, “I never met William’s father. I saw him in old pictures but never in person. He and William had a complicated relationship.” Davon stroked down Yasmine’s back, “A bad one?”
Shaking her head slowly, Yasmine remembered the weird relationship. “No, it was more like they were okay being where they were. William’s dad never came to see Jasper, hadn’t even met him when I was still married to Will. All I know is, he left William’s mother when he was sixteen and disappeared in London somewhere.”
Davon nodded as he looked to his alpha, “So highly unlikely he just randomly shows up at his grandson’s girlfriend’s house in the middle of the night.” Stephan agreed, “Unless it wasn’t random. Roxie did you get a good smell on him? Think you got his scent?” Roxie shook her head tiredly, “No, but I didn’t have to. I know where he is.”
Stephan looked at Yasmine who shrugged, “Well then let’s go and get some answers.”
