Mating Urges

Jasper was still amazed by everything as he walked into the living room. He found his father staring at his with a look of shock. William turned when Jasper came up behind them and as they observed each other, both suddenly smiled, “Is this freaking weird or what?” Jasper said laughing as pointed at his dad’s fangs. William laughed as he pointed at his son’s, “Oh yeah.” And both hugged each other tightly. “I’m glad you’re alright dad.” William grinned into his son’s neck and then slapped him on his back, “Me too. Um, this is your grandfather. Daniel.” Jasper looked at the older man and honestly didn’t see grandfather. The man in front of him was handsome in a classic kind of way. Looking like an older more polished William, the grey hair and beard the only indicator he was older.  Daniel Wynter was no slouch, a built man with tattoos covering his arms and a few on is neck. To be honest, he looked like a retired Rockstar decked out in all black looking dangerously alluring. Not someone’s grandpa who should be playing shuffle board. Holding out his hand, Jasper happily said, “Nice to meet you.” Daniel grinned, “Same.” Walking to him, Daniel looked Jasper over, “My god you look every bit of your father when he was your age.” Chuckling he ruffled Jasper’s hair a little, “Just a little lighter on top.”   Jasper grinned and then he suddenly felt something click in him as he looked at his grandfather. “You’re a vampire.” Jasper realized looking at Daniel as he felt it course through him. The familiarity, the like to like connection that washed over him. Daniel grinned a little, “Yes, I was a born vampire. Like your father, like you.” Jasper breathed out as he wondered, “Is that why we’ve never met?” Daniel looked at his son, who winced as he felt his skin crawl. His veins rushing under his skin was an obvious sign this talk triggered him. So, his father jumped away from it, “I’ll be here when you two get back. We’ll catch up then.” Jasper looked at them confused, “Why do we have to leave? I have to take the SATs next week.” Eric slapped a hand on his shoulder, “I talked to the principal, you and Alaia both have a virus. You can retake it next month.” Jasper relaxed and then looked to his grandfather, “Still haven’t explained why we have to leave?” But then Arden and Alaia came into the room and both Jasper and William were beside them. Jasper wrapped his arms Alaia, burying his face in her neck as William picked Arden up kissing her. “That’s why.” Hearing that, both looked up confused at their own impulsive actions as Daniel glanced over at them amused, “The mating heat is only to get worse from here. Better you all be alone rather here traumatizing everyone.” Eric growled lowly but stopped when Sophia hit him in the stomach. Loren and Desmond both chuckled tauntingly as William blushed bright red, “Ugh…mating?” Daniel c****d an eyebrow, “Nothing none of you haven’t already done.” Jasper blushed as Alaia looked down awkwardly as her father seemed to glare holes into the ceiling. He’d gotten over Jasper being a part of the family, but this conversation, he’d rather not be a part of. “Really dad?” William groaned as Arden giggled in his chest. Daniel shrugged and William sighed resigned to the crazy happening, “Well then here.” Holding out his keys, William offered his dad, “You can go to our place if you want to shower and sleep.” Daniel smiled touched his son would allow him into his home and accepted, “Thank you son.”  After a brief conversation, Daniel didn’t think it best to prolong it anymore. Jasper and Alaia left out of the house with William and Arden following them. Jasper hugged his dad bye and as he walked to the Maserati waiting on them. But before he could climb in, his head suddenly snapped up when he caught a scent. It smelt familiar, woodsy, and sweet, like an old friend. Looking to the left sharply, Jasper saw the familiar grey wolf hiding in the bushes. He knew who it was, and he knew she could see him looking at her. Roxie backed away into the shadows, her nose filled with the scent of Jasper. And as her howl filled the evening sky, Jasper watched her run. Stolvic appeared beside him and looked at where it had come from. “Damn wolf. She came here last night too, almost killed her when she got too f*****g close.” Jasper shook his head, “Don’t hurt her, I know who she is. But if she comes back, chase her off. I don’t feel like dealing with her shit.” Stolvic nodded and Jasper got in the car as Alaia got in the driver’s seat. Minutes later they were taking the interstate out of Devil’s Horns. Smiling as the car sped down the highway like it owned it, Jasper laid back in the seat trying to relax. But it felt impossible. His hearing picked up on the little noises of the car, the engine, and even the road beneath the tires. It was a little overwhelming. But as he breathed in and out, he slowly blocked it all out until the car was quiet and he could hear nothing but the radio and Alaia singing along. “So where are we going?” Jasper asked yawning a little. Alaia grinned, “We have a place in Seattle. Or should I say, I do?” Jasper looked at her surprised and Alaia shrugged, “I invest in a lot of properties. Some I rent out fully furnished, and I know I have one there that is empty.”  Jasper hummed, “And my dad and Arden?” Alaia glanced at him before saying, “Arden is taken him to her cabin a little further north.” As she stopped at a red light, Alaia glanced over as Jasper watched a flock of bird’s head south. A plane breezing overhead startling him making her ask concerned, “Are you okay?” Jasper slowly nodded and muttered, “Yeah. I just feel…off. Like I don’t know, my body and I aren’t in tune right now. And everything is so f*****g loud and just…everything.” Alaia put a hand on his knee, “Don’t worry, it’ll be okay. It just takes a minute to adjust.” Jasper looked at her as his vision bleed red. Inhaling her sweet scent, Jasper drooled as he looked at her neck. “No kidding.” Alaia pulled into a gas station parking lot as he looked at her like she was food. Slowly looking at him, Alaia told him seriously, “Stay here, please don’t get out the car.” Jasper held up his hands and Alaia went into the gas station walking fast. Gums hurting as his body twitched really fast, almost like he’d been shocked by something, Jasper groaned. Laying his head on the glass window, Jasper could feel this weird itch build up in him. It crawled throughout his body and burned his throat until he looked in the backseat and spotted the mini blue cooler. Grabbing it, Jasper looked inside and saw the blood bags. Taking one, Jasper hesitated out of normalcy. His brain telling him he was about to drink blood for the first time. But then his instincts took over and the bag was being devoured like a Capri Sun. And as his thirst seemed to be muted as he waited for Alaia to come back. He trained his hearing and could easily listen as his hearing picked up on her voice thanking the cashier. He could hear two men chuckling behind her, he wouldn’t have cared until he heard them talking about his girl. “-nice little body.” One said as he checked her out probably. Alaia walked outside pretending as if she hadn’t heard the men. But as they tried to catch up to her, her boyfriend, her newly turned vampire boyfriend couldn’t pretend. And with his superior hearing picking up on their repulsive words, he almost ripped them apart. Obviously drunk on beer, the two loudmouth truckers looked at Alaia like she was desert and kept trying to get her attention, “Aye com’ on ove’ her’ and lemme get a taste.” One hollered in his dirty blue jeans, muddy boots, and heavy coat. He looked a thinner, crackhead version of Larry the Cable Guy. As his buddy, about a chromosome away from being Joe Dirt, grabbed his junk whooped eagerly. “Come put that pretty mouth to use baby.” Alaia paid them no mind but instead jumped in the car as Jasper’s red eyes met hers, “Drive!” Alaia sped out of the parking without another warning, spraying mud on the two men who had been hollering at her. As she got back on the interstate, she looked at Jasper panting, “You okay?” Jasper nodded as he looked at her and then smiled, “You’re too f*****g beautiful. I’m going to end up a mass murderer in an hour if I keep getting protective like that.” Alaia smiled as she linked their fingers, “It’ll be okay, it’s just the mating heat. It’s making you a little crazy. You’ll be okay after.” Jasper glanced at her confused, “After what?” Blushing Alaia mumbled, “Mating.” Jasper c****d an eyebrow amused, “Why do you guys call it that? What are we supposed to do it like animals or something?” Alaia laughed a little as she blushed, “It’s supposedly a little primal yeah.” Jasper looked at Alaia and could see why. He struggled to focus as her scent kept torturing him. He smelt her blood, he could see her pulse thumping in her neck. Swallowing hard as his member hardened, Jasper’s fangs poked from behind his lips. “I…I’m-.” Jasper couldn’t describe it, couldn’t think of a name for what he was feeling. Just that he was hot, bothered, and wired. And Alaia was driving him nuts as she looked over at him. Her honey brown curls framing her face as she smiled at him understanding completely, “I know baby. But wait for me, we still have a drive ahead of us.” Jasper did as she told him, but he could feel it in his bones. The moment he got Alaia alone with a bed, he wouldn’t be letting her out of it.
