Xavier’s eyes were searching mine, looking for answers that I wasn’t capable of giving him. “I-uh-,” I managed to stutter out but I was at a loss for words. What exactly was there to say after something like that when I wasn’t even sure what was happening right now? Had he seen what had just happened to me? No, that wasn’t possible. But then why was he looking at me like that right now? And why was my heart beating in my chest so damn fast? The more I thought about my heart rate, the faster it seemed to get and I knew I had to find a way to calm down before I found myself in yet another compromising position.
