It tore me up inside, seeing how upset Ali was over the little mistake she’d made. We’d all made mistakes over the years, all that mattered was that we always found away to clean up after ourselves. Truthfully, it didn’t matter to me what the problem was here. The second I had shown up and seen that Ali was okay, my nerves had calmed right now. I didn’t care about a little slip up with the secret. Hell, I didn’t care in the whole world found out that I was a superhero. All I cared about was Ali’s safety, and in the minutes it had taken me to get over here, I’d felt absolutely sick to my stomach to think that she might be in danger again.
I closed my eyes for a moment, leaning back in the chair as I waited for Ben to text me back.
