“A second visit in one week, aren’t I a lucky gal?” Sabine said as I stepped into the room. I was surprised to find the furniture in the same position it had been in when I left it. She was lounging on the couch now, leaned back with a book in her hands. I doubted she was actually reading it, this woman just liked to make a show of anything as she casually flipped through the pages and pretended to ignore my presence.
I had no plan of attack here, other than my brother being stationed outside the door as back up. He’d wanted to come right into the room with me, confront her and demand answers together, but we both knew that wasn’t the smartest option here. Sabine’s powers might be drained, but she didn’t need them to out smart
