"Compensation, huh?" I thought for a moment, then stood on tiptoe and quickly kissed Kaelan's lips. "Is that enough?"
(Kaelan's POV)
"Not enough." My Adam's apple subtly moved as my large hand cradled the back of Seraphina's neck, pulling her in for a fervent, possessive kiss.
My tongue forcefully parted her lips, as if seeking a gentle retaliation. Seraphina tried to pull back, but my grip on her neck was firm, leaving her no escape.
At some point, my leg slid between hers, and a gentle pull from my hand around her waist lifted her effortlessly.
"Kaelan—" Seraphina barely managed to open her eyes, catching a glimpse of Talia's room with the light still on, where her best friend lay sleeping.
