Chapter 29: Do You All Call Your Ordinary Friends "Baby"

I slowly looked up from my phone, my eyes widening in surprise as I spotted a familiar figure across the clothing store. Elara Vance stood near a rack of leather dresses, her face clear and slender, enthusiastically showing off a burgundy leather dress to a man I didn't recognize.
The man was laden with shopping bags filled with women's clothing, his arms practically overflowing with purchases.
My curiosity piqued immediately. Wasn't Elara supposed to be mated to Damien Volkov? Had they broken up, or was she two-timing him?
I discreetly began recording them with my phone, pretending to be engrossed in scrolling through my device.
"Preston, Does this dress look good?" Elara's saccharine voice carried across the
