Facing her resentful gaze, I just smiled calmly. "The countdown begins."
I watched as Seraphina stubbornly pressed her lips together, refusing to say the word. Her cheeks were flushed with embarrassment, and she kept glancing away from my eyes.
"Four minutes," I announced cheerfully.
She shot me a glare that could have melted steel. "You're being unreasonable!"
"Three minutes and thirty seconds."
Her hands clenched into small fists on my chest. I could feel her heart racing through our bond.
