My chambers were very close to the grand staircase, and soon, a chaotic sound of footsteps came from outside, accompanied by the cheers of the pack.
"They're here, lock the door quickly!" At Talia's command, the bridesmaids in the room instantly locked the door, ready for battle.
Soon, rhythmic knocking sounded on the door. Talia put a finger to her lips, hushing everyone. The room fell silent.
A man's distinct, deep voice sounded from the doorway: "My beloved, I'm here to claim you."
My heart skipped a beat at Kaelan's voice. Even through the door, his presence was overwhelming.
Talia went to the door and cleared her throat: "If the Alpha King wants to get his Luna, he must first pass through us, her guardians."
