Danaya stared at the mahogany door of Alister's office and clutched the hem of her dress. She gulped when she suddenly felt a hand on her shoulder. "Child? What are you waiting for? Go inside. The Alpha has already given you his permission," Jane said. "Do you not feel good?" she added worriedly. "No, Ms. Jane," she shuttered. "I'll go inside," she added, pushing the door open. Alister sat on his swivel chair; he had his glasses on while scanning the documents on the table. "Alpha, I brought Ms. Danaya," Jane said. Alister looked at them and put the papers down. "Thank you, Jane. You may leave us," he said. Jane nodded her head and left, closing the door. Danaya stood with her head bowed while playing with her fingers. "Sit down," Alister instructed. Danaya quickly obeyed the Alpha's command and sat on the couch. Alister took off his glasses and stood up. He approached Danaya and sat on the couch in front of her. "Danaya," he called. Danaya felt something weird when she heard Alister call her name."I suggest you look at me when we're talking; we have a lot to talk about," he said, crossing his arms. Danaya gulped once more and gently raised her head, peering directly into Alister's eyes. "Let's talk about the deal," he said. Danaya unconsciously bit her lower lips, making Alister clench his hand into a fist. "Y-Yes," she answered. "Tell me everything I need to know, Danaya," Alister asked. He wanted to know the entire story coming from Danaya. If Danaya wants him to help her, she must cooperate on this topic. "I'm not from here," she explained. "I live on a small island in the south; slavers invaded the land and killed my family and tribemates." Danaya paused, reliving what had happened, and dropped her head as her eyes began to water. "If you don't want to continue..." "No, it's alright," Danaya said, cutting him off. "We were then sold as slaves in this place. I b-became the vampire lord's slave and…he…he used me." "Okay, that's enough," Alister said, his voice slightly raised. He could feel his anger seething. "Who do you want me to kill?" Alister inquired. Danaya raised her head, tears running down her cheeks. Alister rose from his seat and crouched down in front of her, brushing away her tears. "Look at me, Danaya," he said, gently caressing Danaya's chin to draw her attention. As they stared at one other, he said again, "Tell me who I need to send to hell." "The slavers. I need you to kill them," Danaya bravely responded. "Okay, I promise to kill them for your revenge," he said. Slavery is widespread in the South, but the government has not discovered the black market and apprehended the slavers.Which means that the patrons of the black markets are in a position that could guarantee their safety in the exchange of goods. "Thank you," Danaya said. "But you have to do your part in the deal," he continued, grabbing Danaya and kissing her. Danaya was surprised by Alister's action. She couldn't reply right away, but as he felt Alister's tongue try to enter, she gave in, closed her eyes, and let him do whatever he wanted. Alister's lust grew when he saw Danaya close her eyes. Alister sat beside her and put his hands on her waist, lifting her up to transfer her to his lap. He continued kissing her and his hand slowly went inside Danaya's shirt. When she was about to unclasp her brassiere, Danaya froze. "N-No! Don't touch me!" Danaya hysterically said, struggling her way out of Alister's hold. "Hey, hey, calm down!" Alister said while holding her wrist. "No! P-Please, no more!" she cried. Her eyes were closed. Alister held her carefully and embraced her. "Danaya! It's me, Alister! Snap out of it!" Alister said. Danaya sobbed and slowly opened her eyes. When she saw that it wasn't Vladimir, she hugged Alister tight. "Shh, it's okay," Alister replied, rubbing little circles on her back to calm her. Alister despised himself for getting Danaya into this mess. He had a clue what happened at Montabard's castle, where Danaya was held captive, but he couldn't control his libido and kissed her. "I'm sorry," he muttered. Danaya sniffled and sobbed. "Vladimir Montabard is dead. I already killed him," he stated. Danaya fell silent, but as she realized their intimate position, she nervously pulled away and attempted to stand, but Alister stopped her. "I'm s-sorry," she murmured, embarrassed by her actions. Alister might cancel the deal at this point. She had one job in the deal but couldn't do it properly. "We can do it again but please don't cancel the deal," she added, trying to hide that she was about to cry again. "Don't apologize," Alister murmured, picking her up and placing her on the couch. "It was me who should apologize. I didn't consider your feelings. Don't worry, I won't go back to my word and cancel the deal so don't force yourself," he said, getting up. Danaya followed him with her eyes and fiddled with her fingers. What should she do right now? "Do you want to look around my pack?" Alister asked. Danaya bit her lower lips. "Can I?" she asked. "I'll call my Beta and Jane to accompany you," he said, sitting on his swivel chair, putting his glasses on and starting to read the documents. "Thank you, A-Alpha," she whispered. "Alister." "Huh?" Danaya uttered, confused. "My name," Alister said. "Call me by my name. You're not part of the pack; call me Alister," he added. Danaya felt like she was shrinking in her seat. "I'm sorry," she said. Alister heaved a sigh. He might have come across as harsh because of what he said. "Call me whatever you prefer, Danaya," Alister said. "If you want to call me Alpha, I'll allow it. You do not need to apologize for that," he added and a knock on the door interrupted the both of them. "Alpha," Theodore greeted Alister. "And Danaya," he added, looking in Danaya's way and Jane is at his back. "What is it?" Theodore asked Alister. "I want you and Jane to accompany Danaya to look around the pack," Alister said. "It's good for her to know the people here because she'll be staying for a while," he added. "Child, are you feeling alright now?" Jane spoke behind Theodore, knowing that Danaya was still weak. "I'm fine, Ms. Jane. Thank you for taking care of me," she said, which earned a soft look and smile from Jane. "Then, let's go, Ms. Danaya?" Theodore asked. Danaya nodded her head and stood up. She glanced at Alister, who had his face buried in the pile of documents he was reviewing on his table, before walking towards Jane and Theodore.
