Danaya woke up in the middle of the night, gasping for air. She looked around and pulled the blanket close to her as she sweated profusely. "Danaya, he's not here anymore; he's dead," she whispered to herself. She had a nightmare. It was the night when Vladimir forced himself on her. "He's not here," she repeatedly whispered as she began to cry. Danaya stood up, pulled a few pillows, and lay down near the door. She closed her eyes to go to sleep after looking around one last time. Alister started his day running in the forest in his wolf form. He watched the sun rise in the sky while the birds flew. He came back covered in sweat. Alister washed himself and decided to go to Danaya's room to check on her. Alister gently knocked on the door and called out Danaya's name, but received no response. When he attempted to open the door, he was surprised to find it unlocked. With caution, he pushed it open, only to discover Danaya on the ground, holding a pillow tightly to her chest. Frowning, he immediately reached for his phone and dialed Jane's number. "Yes, Alpha?" Jane said this upon arriving at the pack house. "Why is she sleeping on the ground?" Alister inquired and pointed at Danaya, who was soundly sleeping, clutching the pillow in her chest. "I don't know, Alpha. I left her in bed last night," Jane said. Alister heaved a sigh and opened the door. He then lifted Danaya into his arms without hesitation, slowly refusing to wake her up, and put her back in bed. "Prepare a healthy meal for her, Jane. She's malnourished," Alister said. "Also, contact Nikolai. We need to check Danaya once she's awake and has eaten," he continued. Jane nodded her head and glanced at Danaya. "I will, Alpha," she said and left. Alister put her blanket on and left the room. Danaya heard the birds chirping outside and opened her eyes. The sun had already risen. "How did I get up here?" she asked herself, seeing she's in bed. Danaya remembered that she slept on the floor because of her nightmare. How come she's in bed? Danaya heard knocking on the door and got up. She fixed herself up, opened the door, and saw the same woman who was with her yesterday. "Hi," Danaya greeted. "Child, are you okay? The Alpha spotted you sleeping on the ground earlier. Is there something wrong?" Jane asked and went inside, carrying the tray of food. "Was he… Was he the one who put me back to bed, Ms. Jane?" Danaya asked. "Yes, he is," Jane replied, and she put the tray on the table. "Come eat your breakfast, child. He said he'd meet you later," she added. Danaya nodded her head. "Thank you, Ms. Jane," Danaya said. "You're welcome, child. I've prepared your clothes. The pack doctor will come check on you after," Jane said, putting the clothes on the bed. Jane excused herself and left, giving Danaya privacy. Danaya thanked the sun god and enjoyed her breakfast. After finishing, she headed to the bathroom for a shower, then changed into the clothes Jane had provided before sitting on the bed, waiting for Jane to come and get her. A few minutes later, Jane came knocking on the door. "Child, are you done?" she asked. "Yes, Ms. Jane," she replied. Jane smiled and reached out her hand. "Are you ready? Nikolai's already here. I'll have him come here," Jane said. Danaya nodded her head. Nikolai, the pack doctor, went inside the room and greeted Jane and Danaya. He settled his bag and warmly smiled at Danaya. "Danaya? I'm Nikolai, the pack doctor," he said. "Alpha Alister asked me to check in on you. Are you experiencing any pain or discomfort?" he inquired. "I'm okay," Danaya replied. "I've had a few injuries, but they've all healed back there," she added, concealing the fact that she healed herself. "Hmm, this is difficult. Let me take a look at you. I'll give you some vitamins, and I'll schedule a thorough checkup to see if something's wrong inside," Nikolai said. "Thank you, Sir Nikolai," Danaya said. "Drop the sir. Nikolai will do, Danaya. Glad to help," he answered, checking her. A few minutes later, Nikolai was done. "You need to rest and eat plenty of food to gain back your lost weight, Danaya. Take the vitamins I will give," Nikolai said as he cleaned his things. "Jane, I'll go ahead. I'll have to meet Theodore after this," Nikolai said. Nikolai left, accompanied by Jane, leaving Danaya alone in the bedroom with the door open when Alister knocked. Danaya's eyes widened, and she immediately composed herself. "Checkup's done?" Alister asked, leaning on the wall. "Y-Yes," Danaya replied. "All good?" Alister questioned her as he walked towards her. Danaya gulped and averted her gaze. "He gave me some vitamins and said he'd do a thorough checkup to see if there was anything wrong inside of me," she replied as softly as possible. "Look at me when I'm talking to you," Alister said, gently lifting Danaya's chin with his hand to meet his gaze. "There," Alister said, causing Danaya's breath to hitch. His golden eyes seemed to draw her in. When Alister moved closer, Danaya felt something strange, like a strong pull bringing them together. "Breathe," he whispered. Danaya followed him and breathed. "I'll see you later, and we'll talk about the offer, Ms. Danaya," he added, taking a step backwards. "Make sure to follow what Nikolai said," Alister muttered before exiting the room, leaving Danaya with her heart racing faster. When Danaya snapped out of her mind, she stared at the door and touched her heart. "What's happening to me? Am I dying?" she whispered. "No, it can't be. I still have to find my tribemates and get my revenge," she added. Danaya hasn't attained her goals. She can't die yet. She will heal herself even if it causes her life force to deplete. "Child!" Jane yelled. Danaya looked at the older lady with fear and confusion on her face. "I kept calling your name, but you didn't hear me and were touching your chest. Does it hurt? Do I need to call Nikolai back?" she worriedly added. "I'm sorry, Ms. Jane. I'm alright," Danaya said, forcing herself to smile at the older woman. "Are you sure?" Jane asked and eyed Danaya, trying to read her. Danaya nodded her head. "Yes, Ms. Jane. I'm really sorry for scaring you like that. I'm totally fine," she said. "Okay, if you say so. The Alpha has permitted you to look around the pack. The twins Jaiden and Aiden will accompany you; is that okay with you? Or would you like to stay in your room and rest, as Nikolai said?" Jane questioned. "I'd like to rest, Ms. Jane," Danaya politely replied. She has to talk to Alister later, and Danaya needs every ounce of strength to face the Alpha. "Okay, child. Rest up, and I will bring you to the Alpha later," Jane said and smiled. Jane brought out the tray and walked away. Danaya lay on the bed and grabbed a pillow, placing it in her face. She couldn't believe she made that offer to the Alpha, but she had nothing else to give—not her power. "Haba, Haku, Uku, Lala, and everyone, please guide me. I will definitely get our revenge."
