I have known Kristen for quite some time but I never really got the chance to talk to her or tell her about how I felt.

Don’t get me wrong but I know there have been plenty of girls coming in and going out of the bank I work for but none of them was like her, she was different from the rest and that was the unique thing about her and that evening when my boss called me in his office and asked me to give him an idea on who I was to go with at the Annual general meeting, her name popped up and I knew there was no way he was going to deny or say no to my idea because I knew he had a crush on her and it was clear in as much as he was trying to hide, Kristen Zoey was the kind of a woman that any man would want to have and I was no exception.

I booked a seat next to her because I wanted to have the chance to get to know her better and maybe spent the entire time with her during the flight but when she fell sick I was worried about her, I knew something was not making sense and maybe she was cooking up something just to avoid being with me but I was not going to lose hope, I offered to carry her bags to her hotel room even though she sounded like she didn’t need my help.

I took a room opposite hers so I could get time with her and stay close to her and I think that was the best and the worst decision, she even agreed to go to dinner with me and I was looking forward to it, I was planning to tell her how I felt about her, I spent the whole evening looking for an outfit for the occasion and I finally settled on casual wear, a black pair of khaki pants, a white shirt and a pair of black boots.

I texted her to tell her that I was ready and I was passing by her place to pick her up but got no response twenty minutes later, I decided to go check on her maybe she had overslept or maybe she was still getting ready.

I knocked on the door but got no response, I knocked again and when I didn’t hear anything I decided to go in myself only to come face to face with her on the bed with another guy that looked familiar, I thought I had seen him somewhere or maybe I was just hallucinating, I apologized and locked the door behind me and walked back to my hotel room, I felt heartbroken even though I knew I had no right to be mad at her because I had not set my intention clear with her.

But how easier it was for her to get a man to lay in bed with her was still not making any sense to me, or maybe she already had plans with him before me and maybe that was the reason she was hesitant with me and about the dinner, I laid back in bed and waited for her hoping maybe she will come to tell me what the hell was going on and what her plan was.

I don’t know if I was being too much or on her toes but it was Kristen I wanted, after setting the record clear with Amber, I wanted to be with Kristen really bad, maybe someone would say that I was losing my cool and the way I handled things but Zoey was worth it, I was willing to risk it all for her and when I was done with Amber I drove straight to her apartment that morning but she was not around, I drove to her workplace and she was not there either, I decided to go talk to her boss, Mr Howard who was a long fallout friend but I knew he was going to help with what I wanted.

“Hey Howard, it is nice to see you after a long time,” I said as I walked to his office and he sighed when he saw me.

“I wouldn’t say the same thing because I don’t think I was expecting to see you here, what do you want here?”

“Nothing much, I just need a favour from you,” I said hoping he wants going to make me go through hell finding what I wanted.

“What favour, you and I both work in different fields and I don’t think you would need any of my help, what does your father want from me?”

“You know you go this all wrong because it has nothing to do with my father, this is all my business right here, and so are you going to help me?”

“That depends on what type of favour you want me to do for you, so just go ahead and say what you want to say and let us get done with this because, unlike some people, I have work to do.” He said and I sighed.

“Okay, it is about your stuff member.”

“What business do you have with my staff members?”

“Kristen Zoey, I want to know where she is because I need to talk to her.”

“Okay this is interesting, what do you know about Kristen and what do you want to do with the information about her whereabouts?”

“That is none of your business Mr. Howard I want to know her whereabouts because she is my girlfriend,” I said just to hurt him and I saw the way he gulped down a sip of his bottled water, Kristen had all it took to win any man’s heart and I was not surprised to see how it affected him, I am not selfish but I was just trying to mark my territory, Kristen was mine and there was no way I was going to let anyone take her from me.

“Okay this is interesting and what makes you think that I will tell you about her whereabouts? She is my staff member and I have the right not to tell you anything.”

“Yeah I know all that but I think you are still going to give me the information because I need to be with her right away, we have something really important we have to talk about.”

“Okay, why should I help you?”

“Because I could just go straight to your fiancée and tell her that you are cheating on her.”

“Huh and what evidence do you have about that?”

“Oh I have it all, here have a look,” I said as I showed him the photos on my phone and he sighed, I knew I had him exactly where I wanted and there was no doubt I was at the upper hand, that is how I got to know about Kristen’s whereabouts, I know I didn’t have a lot of time going to the airport and all that so I asked dad for his private jet and he gave it to me, even though he was not really into it.

Kristen was not happy to see me or rather she was still mad at me about the whole Amber issue.

I saw the look on Josh’s face when he saw us in bed and trust me I was happy about it, they all got to know that she was mine and mine alone and no one was going to be with her or have her, I was glad that she didn’t go after him and just stayed in bed with me.

“So is that guy like into you?” I asked and she chuckled which answered my question.

“I don’t know, how the hell I’m I supposed to know about who is into me?”

“I know he is, I saw disappointment on his face when he saw us in the position we were in.”

“Yeah I would be too because you just showed up unanimously and unannounced without saying anything, it is not like we are an item, you have a f**k buddy and sleeping with you twice doesn’t makes us a couple, I just need you to stop thinking that you own because you don’t.”

“I don’t, I went through hell to get to you and get to see you, and I think you should be appreciative of that because I have never done this for anyone.”

“So what is this supposed to make me feel, special or what?”

“Not in that way literally I just want you to know that I am doing gin for you and I have never really gone through this path and I just want you to be patient with me, everything is going to be okay.”

“Yeah, you think so? Maybe I should have thought about everything before I fall into your trap because this is not going to work it is going to jeopardize my career and everything, I am stupid.” She said and I wasn’t quite getting any of what she was talking about.

“Okay, what do you mean by that? I’m I interfering with your work schedule or your career and how exactly I’m I doing that?”

“I am pregnant and this wouldn’t have happened if I didn’t allow you to climb back into my bed, I should have listened to my conscience.” She blurted out and I froze, I didn’t know what to say or what to do, I just stood up from where I was seated and walked to the door.

“I am sorry but I didn’t come here for this, I got to go right now,” I said and didn’t even wait for her reply, I had to go and I know what I did was wrong but I don’t think sitting there and saying nothing was going to make any difference, as I pressed the elevator door, I had a lot of thoughts going through the mind and my head was in turmoil.
