I woke up with a throbbing headache and Josh was there staring at me.
“What?” I asked astonished at how he was staring at me like I had just suddenly grown some horns.
“I don’t know but I am glad that you are finally awake, I have been waiting all along for you to wake up because we are landing in a few minutes, how are you feeling now?”
“Just a little bit dizzy but I think I will be okay, how long have I been out?” I asked as I touched my head and feel my temperature.
“About an hour and a half, not long but are you sure you are okay?”
“Yeah I am totally fine, what did the doctor say?”
“Nothing because when we came back you were asleep, you should get checked once we get to Los Angeles.” He said and I just nodded in agreement, I didn’t want to engage him further.
“Yeah I know, I am sorry if I freaked you in any way.”
“No, it is okay maybe you were just flight sick.” He said and just as our plane landed he offered to help me with my bags to the awaiting car.
“Thank you for helping me out, I think I will take it from here,” I said and I took my bags from him when we reached my hotel door, I just wanted some tie alone and enough rest before the big day.
“No problem at all, I just want to help with your bags, it won’t take long despite I just sleep at the opposite door and I don’t think it will take me long to go back to my room, come on I know you are those types of ladies that don’t believe in being helped but I am just giving you a hand, come on.” He said as he swiped the keycard and I sighed, I was not in the mood to argue either.
“Okay thank you so much for giving ‘hand’ but I don’t think I am the type of lady you are talking about, just place them on the other side, and I will be okay,” I said as I directed him to put the suitcases at the other end of the room and I plopped myself on the bed.
“Okay I will let you rest, I will pass by and maybe we could go for dinner, what do you say?”
“I will think about it, right now I just want to sleep and get some rest I am sure by the time you are ready for dinner I will be ready too,” I said and after talking for a while, he finally left and I was now having the time and the room to myself, the change in my health was not something normal and there is no way I would be flight sick.
I immediately took my phone and started searching about the possible causes of what I was going through, I know it didn’t make sense but I was anxious and nervous, the only thing I got was about pregnancy and I just couldn’t come to terms with the fact that I could be pregnant, it was just not sitting on my mind, so I had to call for room service.
“Ma’am, is there anything else you need?”
“Yes please, do you have pregnancy test kits with you or can I get them please?”
“Yes, I think I can get you one from the pharmacy, anything else?”
“No, and please don’t include it on the hotel bill, I will give you cash for that,” I said and gave her a one hundred dollar note, as I sat back in the room waiting, I just couldn’t concentrate on anything until I heard the door knock.
“Ma’am here is your change.” The lady said and I brushed it off, I didn’t even care about the change, there were three kits just in case, “no need for that, just keep the change.” I said and locked the door on her way out, I sighed before I walked into the bathroom, my mind was in turmoil and I just didn’t know what to do, I carried the three kits and went to the bathroom, I took three samples and waited while seated on the toilet seat, I kept browsing through my phone to keep time going but to tell the truth I was so nervous and so anxious.
After a few minutes I peeped through the kits and my heart sank, I just couldn’t get enough of it, I took a deep breath and checked the three kits and they were all positive, I was pregnant and I knew it was devastating but there it was, my fears were confirmed, I put the kits back on the shelf and walked into my room, I didn’t even have the strength to sit down, I plopped myself on the bed as I let everything surge through, I didn’t know what to do and it was getting late, I knew I had dinner plans with josh Hoer but I just didn’t feel like going out anymore, I decided to back out on the plan and maybe order room service but a few minutes to eight, I heard a door knock and I dragged my feet to the door.
“Josh I don’t think I am in the mood to go out tonight I am sorry but I just don’t feel okay today,” I said without checking who was at the door.
“Were you expecting someone else?” I heard Reece’s voice and I turned to look at him surprised, “What the hell? Reece, what are you doing in my hotel room, how the hell did you know where I was?” I asked as he walked right through the door and walked straight to my couch, I was still trying to get through the fact that I was pregnant and speaking of the devil
“Can you please stop blubbering, I came here because you weren’t answering my texts and neither were you answering my calls, so I decided to come here by myself and see how you are doing, maybe you wanted to see me in person and I am here baby.” He said with no remorse and I sighed deeply.
“Okay enough of this, don’t you realize that this is a business and how the hell did you even find my room?”
“I am a man of my word and a man of many people, your boss Mr Howard is my college friend, we brushed shoulders here and there but I just blackmailed him with one thing and boom he was at my feet, don’t tell me you didn’t miss me.”
“That is not the whole point and me not answering your calls or texts doesn’t give you the right to just pop up in my room and all that, this is a business trip and very professional, I don’t think you are allowed in here.”
“I thought you missed me but don’t worry I am not here to interrupt you, I know you had dinner plans with Josh or what is his name again? I just missed you and thought I should come by and say hi, maybe spend time with you but it is clear that you don’t want me in here and that is for a fact.”
“Yeah maybe you are right but I don’t appreciate you just popping up any time you want I mean we are not even dating, why would you think I appreciate having you around every time, what happened to your f**k buddy Amber? I thought you were too busy back in town.”
“Forget about her, I am here with you right now and that is what matters, how are you doing?”
“I am good as you can see,” I said ignoring his earlier comment, I was not yet convinced that he would just show up and act like everything was okay.
“Okay I missed you but I think you wanted to go out with him so I will just leave and give you the time but don’t forget that I am here for you, I came here for you until I get to spend some time with you.”
“In as much as I want to spend time with you, I don’t feel well and I just want to be left alone so I can get some rest and prepare for the big day tomorrow, can I get that from you?”
“Yeah sure but I don’t think I want to leave you alone in this state, you don’t look so well to me, are you sure you are okay?”
“I don’t know but I think I already told you this, I just want to rest and lay in bed.”
“Okay I could lay here with you,” he said and moved to my bed, the closer he moved to me, the more I felt like I wanted him close, I had missed feelings about everything but I knew I wanted him closer, he moved and placed his hands on my hips and I sighed deeply, he still had that effect on me.
“Okay so what happened to Amber, are you guys like…?”
“Dating? Ew no, I am not dating her, we are just friends, more like f**k mates but I am calling it quits with her, I want to be with you.” He said and I chuckled, not the Reece I knew would settle for one girl.
“You being with one person is something that doesn’t exist in your dictionary but I will buy that, why are you here?”
“To see you, to be with you.”
“I don’t know what is going on but I don’t think you want to be here anyway here you are.” I said and just then the door was knocked, I didn’t feel like opening the door either, “Just ignore it, they will be gone before you even know it,” Reece said but the knocking didn’t stop, “I am coming in Kristen.” I heard Josh’s voice and I cursed.
“Oh my God, sorry I didn’t mean to interrupt you, I will take my leave.” He said and matched out, I wanted to go after him but Reece stopped me and urged me to relax, I felt bad for Josh but there was nothing I could do about it at the moment
