I wake up to my sister's voice calling me from the door
"Brianna you should be preparing already, have you forgotten about Ruby's wedding today?" Eileen shouts from the door
"Ooh s**t i almost forgot, i slept a little bit late yesterday and you know the flight journey" i say trying to get up from the bed and she walks in right straight to my bed.
"And you remember yesterday when I was literally begging you to sleep early? Well you ignored me now you have to deal with it, just wake up ,i don't want to be late, Barry and Melanie are already up" she says and plops herself on the couch
"Okay mom i heard you,i can't wait for the day to end, I'm gonna sleep like a baby after that" i say while yawning and stretching myself.
"You will have the whole day until you decide to go back to California,you should get enough sleep though,we don't want you walking around with eye bags" she says and i nod
"Okay all right,i will just take a quick shower then join you guys"
"I'm waiting for you, i have to do your make up remember"
"Ooh yeah i forgot,my bad , I'm not going to take forever" i say and pick a towel from my closet. My room is still the same way i left about six years ago, my bed spread with the same bedsheets and my duvet, the walls were refurnished but were still painted pink,my favorite colour. Mom said she always gets someone to clean my room on weekends that is why it's still sparkling clean after years of not spending time in here.
I walk to my en suite bathroom,i walk straight to the shower cubicle,i have no time for a bubble bath so i guess i will have to use the shower.
After about fifteen minutes I'm done,i walk towards my room and i find a dress laid on the bed,it's a beautiful baby pink bare back mermaid dress, i know Ruby's favorite colour is baby pink so i knew she was going to choose this colour for our dresses, she had the tailor make the same design for our reception dresses because I'm the bride's maid of honor
I wipe myself dry and apply some body lotion. Just then Eileen walks in.
"Hmm...just right on time" she says as she walks in with a smile pestered on her face
"Yeah we calling it perfect timing" i say and pass her a sly smile before i take my seat in front of the mirror
"Great, we going to do your make up first thing before you put on your lovely dress"she says as she takes the make up kit.
Well i just forgot to tell you, Eileen's dream was always to become a great fashionista, make up artist. She did her fashion and designing and graduated about two years ago, mom gave her funds to start get own company and glad she is doing great right now, she used to send me some of her designs while i was still back in California,her company is doing great right now and it's the most known fashion and designing company in the country,with several other branches, she has her own employees and she once told me her boyfriend is a model, from the look of things the two love each other,i just can't wait to meet my future brother in law
So Ruby hired Eileen to design the wedding gown and the dresses and hmm i can't lie she did quite a recommendable job.
"You know i can't wait to finally meet the guy who stoke my sister's heart" i say as she is busy doing makeup on my face
"Michael, his name us Michael" she says with a smile on her face, a clear indication that she loves the guy
"Hmm... Seems like you love him"
"What kind of question is that Brianna, i love Michael with everything,i just hope he's the one for me"
"If you were meant to be together,you guys will definitely end up together"
"Just like you and Bruce" she says and i frown. "What? don't act like you don't love him, you guys love each other,it's just a matter of ego and pride, for all these years, Bruce never moved on,i remember when you left he had an accident which almost left him paralysed, he was drunk,i think its because you left and he decided to immerse himself in alcohol,we never thought he will graduate and run his dad's company,it was a miracle" Eileen says and I'm left speechless, i mean no one told me that he got an accident because of me, i would blame myself if he died
"What about Bailey and her mom? Have they ever visited you guys" i ask trying to change the topic
"Hmm...Betsy was never a woman of appreciation, she never at one time looked for mom or even visited, seems like she knew where Grandma had hidden some cash, she had been all over squandering the money and not caring about saving, heard they were thrown out if the house,they haven't paid rent for almost five months"Eileen says as she finalizes
"Hmm...i wonder what Bailey's agenda was, and the way we cared for her like our own, i never imagined that she would go after my boyfriend, that was one hell of a move but anyway that's life, i hope she is happy wherever she is" i say and put on the dress, Eileen helps me with the zipper

"Hey guys? How do I look?" I ask the trio seated in the living room. Mom is seated on the other couch already dressed up as well as Barry and Melanie who are sharing the two seater couch
"Well, good morning to you too honey" mom says and j find myself smiling
"Mom sorry i forgot, morning?" I say as i hug her and then give her s good morning kiss on her forehead
"You look amazing sweetheart, and the dress it's fitting, i even thought it will be too small for you" she says and pats the empty space beside her for me to sit
"Thanks mom, that's your daughter's work, you should congratulate her" i say and give a small smile to Eileen who smiles back at me and takes the seat just beside mine.
"Yeah i know she is a good designer,congrats girl, we should get going, remember you are the bride's maid of honor, you should be there with her" Mom says and we agree with him
"Who is going to drive us to Ruby's place?" I ask and everyone looks at Barry
"Well seems like i have no choice here" he says and smiles.
"You guys should drive together, I'll ask my chauffer to take me to church, besides we had some plans with Ruby's mom, so it's better i start going, i will see you guys at the wedding venue right?" Mom asks and we nod in response
"Yes see you there" i say an hug her, she hugs Eileen and heads out.
"So guys I'm going to take the front seat, Melanie and Eileen you will take the back seat" i say smirking at them
"I saw that coming, let's get going" Eileen says and just then my phone rings, it's Ruby
"Hey girl i say as we head out to my car, parked just outside the house
"You should be here b***h, what's taking you so long?"
"I'm actually on my way, relax and you shouldn't be having your phone right now, you should be doing your makeup" i say trying to scold her
"It's being done, now will you get your ass down here? I don't want to get late, Randall might think i stood him up at the altar" she says and i smile
"No you won't, see you in a few minutes" i say and hung up. I walk to the front seat and take the other seat, Barry starts the ignition and we drive off to Ruby's place.
