(5) The wedding day

"Hey girl" i say to Ruby who is in front of the mirror, the make up artist is doing wonders on her pretty face
"You're late Bree, that's not the time we agreed on huh" she says trying to scold me for being late
"You can scold me later honey, it's your big day, you wouldn't want to screw that up for my small mistake now will you please concentrate and give your make up artist an easy time?" I say smiling and her mouth curved into a smile.
"Well I'll let you win for now but just know that I'll be back for you, you know how we usually do it right?"
"Of course how can I forget that?"
"Good" she say while smiling
"You good to go, it's done" the make up artist says and i can't lie, Ruby looks like princess Sofia
"Woow, I'm envious" i say
"Huh why would you be?" Ruby says while smirking at me and she turns around the mirror to check herself on the mirror, just then her mom walks in followed by Eileen.
"It's time for you to put on your gown" the make up artist says
"Wow you look beautiful honey" her mom says and sh just smiles adorably at her
"Thanks mom, the day is finally here, the day you walking me down the aisle, I'm so excited mama"
"So I'm I, can you put on your gown now,i want to see how beautiful you going to look in that gown i designed it for you myself" Eileen chirps in
"I know you never disappoint, you made it to designing for the first lady's clothes, do you think any one could just get that chance? It's never that easy my dear, i know I'm going to glow, and who knows? You going to get more clients I'm going to market your work" Ruby says and Eileen smiles sweetly at her
"I will appreciate but first let's make sure this day comes to success, we will talk about marketing there after, now let's help you with your gown, will you?"
"Of course" Ruby says and stands in front of the mirror
Eileen designed a beautiful halter necked white mermaid gown with a bare back, the gown fits her well
"Hmm...i never thought it will be that beautiful on you" Eileen says
"Wow now this is the perfect gown for a beautiful bride like you, i love it, it looks good on you, now we should get going before your fiancee thinks you stood him up" her mom suggests and we both nod in agreement
We all head out, Barry is seated with Melanie on the couch.
"Guys we should get going, Melanie you will drive with your boyfriend in my car while we take the limousine with the bride" i say and realise later i made a mistake it didn't have to escape my mouth
"Is he not your famous boyfriend?" Ruby's mom asks and i find myself fidgeting with my fingers
"Hmm...no,,yes it's kind of complicated, i don't know how to explain" i say trying to make it clear to her
"Mama let her be, we will talk about it later, it's getting late you know?" Ruby saves my ass and I'm glad she did because the air was getting tense and very awkward this faking is getting on my nerves already and I don't know what to do anymore
"Okay honey,don't worry Brianna i understand what you went through, and whatever my nephew did to you was uncouth and shameful, you free to do anything you want to but always be careful, I'll always be on your side" she says and pats my shoulder and i feel her genuine care.
We get into the limousine waiting is outside, Eileen is seating next to me, while ruby is seated next to her mother. The drive to church is not that far because after fifteen minutes we arrive at the lobby of the Church.
The brown mahogany door is closed from the inside.
"Now here we go honey, this is your final step into marriage, as your mother, i want to advise you to be cam, don't panic and be a good girl I've moulded you into, i love you and I'm glad I'm seeing you walk down that aisle before i die but before that i want to see grandkids"
"Mom I'm not yet married and you already talking about kids come on mom that's too early" Ruby says and we all laugh at her mom's statement
"Well that was hot make you smile, one way of easing your tension"
"You surely know how to do this" Ruby says and hugs her mom
We help her down the car and as soon as the door is opened, Eileen and i walk in first followed by Ruby and her mother who is the one to walk her down the aisle.
Russell is wearing an official black pant suit with a classic white collar shirt, a black bowtie with black Derby lakierowane official shoes, looking like a god waiting up for her at the alter. The church is parked to capacity, with baby pink flowers mind with cream on the walls.
The priest starts with preaching, and my eye safe just roaming around aimlessly looking for Bruce, it's been years since i last saw him and i know he wouldn't miss his cousin's wedding for any reason. After my eyes search i see him seated at the furthest corner with s lady whom i can't wait to see her face, so when Ruby told me that Bruce never moved on she lied to me, the lady seated beside him is busy holding his hands but i can see clearly what is happening from my sitting position, she is forcing herself to him, i find it loopy
The couple exchange vows after the preaching and j can't just wait to get rid of this gown so I can put on the reception dress.
"Wow I'm so happy for you girl" i say to Ruby as i high her, she is now a Mrs Russell
"Thanks love, you should be the next in line give space to your little sister, it's like you closing her ways"Ruby says while winking her eyes at me and i can't hold back my laughter anymore
"You guys are just funny, give me a break, I'm just two days old here and you already blaming me for Eileen's choices?"
"Correction, please it's not my choice it's your decision you know i can't get married before you mom will start lecturing me blah blah blah on how it's not traditional so i suggest you get a man and get married already" she says and we all burst out laughing
"It's not funny but it's noted, I'll make sure I keep that in my to do list" i say back to her. The rest of the fifteen minutes is full of congratulation messages yo Ruby, with some of our friends back in highschool and her colleagues.
We are later making sure the couple are in their car ready to head out to the reception.
"I will see you guys at the reception" i say to Ruby who is already settled in the car
"Okay thanks love, i hope you won't disappear, remember you the one to help me cut the cake, maid of honor" Ruby say and winks at me
"Yeah i know my dear,i won't let you down" i easy genuinely
"Thanks Brianna you made this a success"Russell says
"Anything for my bestie, see you guys" i say and close the door, just then i bump into someone and she ours some cheap wine on my dress,and it's when i realise it, Bailey
"b***h! " I say angrily
"Hello sweet cousin, ooh my bad sorry i spoilt your dress" she says with a wicked smile and i fold fingers in clenched fists
"You're one lucky b***h,i wish i smashed that pretty ugly yellow bleached face of yours, you disgust me" i say angrily
"Ooh you wouldn't dare"
"And why do you think i wouldn't? You think I'm a coward" i ask her daringly
"You are still the naive stupid girl I knew six year ago, you won't do anything" she dares me and that's how I lose my cool, i walk straight to where she is, i knew she is big in size but there's no way she is going to intimidate me, i pull off her wig and everyone laughs at her bald head,i slap her hard across the face and when she tries to hold hands i loose my temper and start hitting her on her face. Some people are already recording but i don't care, all i care about is the b***h trying to fight me back. I hear my mom's voice trying to get me off her but i needed to teach they b***h a lesson when will never forget.
Just then Someone pulls me off her and i land on a familiar chest, the softness of his arms makes me reminisce our past, no it can't be!
