And as Marcus lay dead and Billy tried to command, he seek justice, the other young kids that he’d been pushing into this with lies stood idle and confused. This wasn’t supposed to be their first raid.
Zombies, troll patrol, and malevolent natured beings who were doing wrong, all an understandable first raid. Right now, all they were watching was the brutality of humans against a bunch of old people. Embarrassed, and ashamed, he met the older people’s eyes and suddenly said, “I’m sorry, we didn’t mean to disturb you. Have a nice evening.”
His uncle barked at him, kicking his ankle, “What the f**k are you doing!?” Tate looked at him, “I’m going to get these kids back to their families, the one you took them from promising they’d be trained right since their father’s or brothers aren’t around to keep their lines going. Only you lied, and this isn’t hunting. This is…this is an embarrassment and it’s not okay. I won’t do it to please you because you’re the only father I knew. I’m going to believe my real one was going to want me to be better than this. I have to believe he would.”
Almost seeing his brother beaming with pride as his son turned his back to him, Billy hollered for Tate as he tried to get up. Only as gravity, David pushed down on him refused to allow him up Tate turned to the kids and said, “Come on, we need to go. Now.”
Stopping in front of a crying Cameron, Tate looked at him knowing he wasn’t a bad kid and as David released him from his spell, the young man helped him up. “Come on.” He pulled the kid away before he could ask David if it was real. His dad talking to him.
Telling him he was listening to the wrong person. Not able to though as matters got dangerous and they had innocent kids with them, Tate pulled him along rushing him to keep up.
Eagerly following him, the kids all ran behind Tate who became a man instead of a follower. Left on the ground with the corpse Billy hollered for his nephew to come back as David kept his hoe on his chest.
Weight pushing down on him making him unable to move, Billy was sure the pixie would have crushed him as his pale aqua eyes glowed with sadistic amusement, “Now, what was this plan of hurting my wife you were talking about?” Feeling his chest ready to cave in as the weight of what felt like an elephant landed on his chest, Billy couldn’t breathe.
Feeling his face turn redder as the weight nearly pushed him through the ground, Billy tried to breathe. But no, nothing came in. Nothing came out.
So, when he felt his chest was about to explode, or his brain, Billy was somehow saved.
Or some form of it.
When Loki and Triston Deucalion pulled up and saw Billy Armen on the ground, they both met the bright pale aqua eyes, “Evening old timer.” Triston greeted David, who nodded with a raised eyebrow as his wife sighed and grabbed her blanket. Ready to keep knitting, if need be, the woman was surprised when they held up their hands in a non-threatening pose.
“What the hell, seems like we’re just picking up scum left and right.” Frowning at the kid, Billy was hauled to his feet and felt the gun at his throat, “It’s funny, since you’ve been away from your house your niece and daughter have both had some things to say. Your daddy wants to talk to you.”
Paling Billy tried to yank away but his guilt and shock at his crimes discovered made him forget his flesh wound. Until his felt it gush and the wound throbbed as he paled from blood lost. “AH!”
A burn as Eloise suddenly grabbed his hand and branded it closed. “There, now you go and pay for the crimes you committed.” Eloise waved him off and into the waiting Jeep and was zip tied by her magic. Looking at the older pixie, the old woman stared back unflinchingly, “And what do you all plan on doing with that stain?” Promising her he wouldn’t see another day, they tried to shake the feeling they somehow knew her.
But as she dismissed them basically as she turned and checked over her husband, they were pulling out when Katherine landed.
“Are you two okay?”
Smiling kindly and calmly, they both gave the faces of her loving parents as her mom chirped, “Right as rain darling. And you?” Nodding, putting her staff up, David again felt guilty over his actions knowing she was scared he’d judge.
After she’d defended them, he’d met her love with judgement. Now he understood and showed it by gently pinching her cheek, “Darling, I know you’re back home, but you don’t have to be home on a Saturday night.” He chuckled amused knowing she’d only come to check on them, “We’re old but we’re not that old.”
She grinned amused before saying, “I know, I just worried and-.” She gasped grabbing her chest suddenly, “Honey?” Grabbing her daughter’s hand, Eloise felt the panic and felt it coming in waves knowing it wasn’t hers. “Your mate,” Nodding, Katherine agreed, “Henry. He’s panicking about something, he needs me.”
Pushing her to, Eloise watched her go without another word and watched her husband smile as Katherine powerfully shot off and rushed right back to her mate’s side. “It’s so bittersweet.” He omitted, “Our little girl is all grown up and I really couldn’t do s**t to stop it.”
Nodding at her mate, she took his hat to protect her face from the sun, gave him a kiss and the older couple began their work in the garden.
